Just realised that Cena's finisher has been called the AA now longer than it has the F-U, so what do you call the move?
I still call it the FU whenever I see it out of habit.

AA because the FU is too hard for Cena's current incarnation. I refuse to have current Cena use as move as awesomely amazing as the FU.

The FU is a better name and was a brilliant middle finger to Brock Lesnar at the time but a finisher as bluntly named as that doesn't fit the Cena of the last 6-7ish years a single bit.

I think of it as the AA, but that's largely since I didn't think of the FU name as having much to do with him once the Lesnar feud ended. It'd be kind of like if the Rock feuded with Triple H and had a move called the Game Changer or something directed at him, and then Triple H left and he kept doing it. It'd seem out of place.
I am glad most people seem to have gotten over themselves on the last one. "But it's just a-" Oh god, shut up. Every single wrestling move is just a ______ with a fancy name and maybe a flourish or two. You still land on your back, face, head, etc, for any number of slams, it's just the trip you took there that is different. What's especially bizarre is people saying "It's just a fireman's carry slam" like this was some move people used all the time until he said it was his finisher. If they did do fireman's carries, it was usually guys like Angle who used a lot of grapples and chain wrestling and typically on the ground.
Sorry for the mini-rant, just, it's a shit, piss-poor argument people use to knock the guy. It's like saying someone had a bad finisher based on "Oh, well, it only did a C for damage in No Mercy. What a shitty finisher". It is almost exactly as divorced from reality, because wrist clutches, spins like Luke's clothesline, etc, almost always are based mostly on kayfabe power advantages, not real life ones. Or else every match would end with facelocks or just stomping on the back of people's heads.
We're out of the carnival grounds, people, don't be a pedant.

Anyone else remember that week it was called the Throwback? I know he had another move called that, but I could see if he used it for the AA at some point, since it sort of works. I remember he had a flipping cutter/neckbreaker thing he'd do after pumping his pump Reebocks he had when he had the throwback jerseys.

I tend to think of it as the "thank God this match I had no interest in is over."
Honestly though, it's the AA. As with most E things, whatever the name becomes eventually takes and then I don't care anymore.

It's the one name change I've never got used to.
I see it and I still think FU.

I go back and forth on it. Anyone else remember that week it was called the Throwback? I remember it being called that in one of the games and JR saying on his blog that was going to be the new name during the, "Going for the victory!" phase.

"going for the victory" is still better than "the kick that beat John Cena"

"Attitude Adjustment "will always be Lex Luger's piledriver to me. Looking back I don't remember buy why did he drop the Torture rack for a piledriver in the first place? Harley Race's finisher wasn't a piledriver was it?

Yeah, the throwback was his flipping cutter move that he stopped doing around the time Randy started doing the RKO... it's a strange coincidence that

I've gotten used to AA. Honestly, I've forgotten a couple times that it used to have a different name. That's how long it's been around.

I grew up with the FU. I prefer it, and still call it that, but deep in my heart I know that the AA is a better name.
