Id say E but the word 'effort' beside it puts me off as I didn't see any of that this year. A great Wrestlemania and NXT cause me to say d- and that's very generous of me.
NXT on it's own gets an A+.

I really enjoyed up until Wrestlemania, but after the injury of Bryan WWE became so depressing to watch. D-
NXT on the other hand has superb all year.

Before April, even with all of the booking around the Rumble, they were running a C+ show. With WM 30, they rose back into a solid B. After everything shook out with Bryan, it's been a steadily decline into F. Outside of NXT, SS, and Bryan's return (which still isn't set in stone) they failed to make their show compelling, to make their wrestlers important save for a very few, and to make it a must see show for wrestling fans. Monday's show was a prime example of it, and the perfect wrapup of the year.

NXT, by its lonesome, would get an A- at worst. As mentioned earlier, the early part of the year was a little rough for them, but after the first special things just started moving at breakneck speed for them.
As for WWE... D+. They, as a company, have regressed a fair bit compared to last year. A champion that rarely shows up and hasn't defended the title since September(!), heel authority figures that went away at the right time... only to come back a month later, and a roster that has felt more and more depleted of star talent (save the ones at the main event and the members of The Shield). Combine with the not-so-great launch of the WWE Network and an aging leader at the forefront and you get where WWE is at now.
I don't believe I'm saying this, but one can only hope that Vince does what's best for business, hands the book over to Triple H, and retires quietly.

Yeah, I really do think, while there've been worse years for sure, this year has been the most compelling argument that it's time for Vince to go.

I went with F while knowing that's probably dramatic and possibly unfair, but nothing else feels right. There have been some really stellar moments this year, like all time memorable stuff, Daniel Bryan's Wrestlemania, Brock Lesnar killing Cena, beating the streak, Evolution vs. the Shield. But their failure to capitalize on anything is getting really exhausting, Daniel Bryan's Road to Wrestlemania was perfect and why they can't put that vigor in more than a few things at once and for extended periods of time is anyone's guess. Everytime something cool happens it feels like the attitude behind it is "well I guess we should do something here." Where they just do something over the top once and a while so we don't feel like we're completely wasting our time.

D. Everything from February-April was excellent, and there were a few other bright spots like The Shield and Dolph Ziggler, but the bad far outweighs the good. Dropping the ball on Ambrose and Cesaro, and following up Cena's loss to Lesnar with the same tired crap are the big failures for me.

Would've been an F if not for Daniel Bryan's Wrestlemania moment. That's pretty much the only thing that kept WWE from being completely terrible.
2014 was a pretty bad year for mainstream wrestling.

2014, more than any other, is the year of 'moments'.
Paige's moment. Cesaro's moment. Shield's moment. Bryan's moment of course.
So it's just a question of if these moments are worth it, if these brief flashes of promise that add up to a few GIFs, are worth it. For me, it hasn't been. It's actually been worse because that promise is never followed up on.

You had the run to Mania, and the best Mania since 19. Granted after that Bryan got thrown into a feud with Kane, which I didn't mind, because from reports it was all setting up for Bryan to retire Kane. You had The Shield's face turn the night after Mania, and they're owning of Evolution. Bryan's injury caused a panic, which has resulted in what will be 3 Brock vs Cena matches in less than a year. Barrett's injury took him out just when it looked like they were going to give him Money in the Bank, and Roman's injury hurt him and booking. So there's some stuff you can't blame on WWE. On the other hand there is stuff you can blame on WWE, like Cena vs Lesnar 3 times in less than a year, with Bryan out, give us Lesnar vs Ambrose, or Lesnar vs Cesaro (but WWE f***ed up Cesaro), hell they could have done Lesnar vs Sheamus at some point. Big Show's heel turn, and subsequent destruction of Rowan's momentum was horrible. Putting Big Show in a feud with Reigns, is even worse. Paige's feud with AJ, which resulted in Paige being a second thought. You still had great things like NXT, Dolph, Paige, Rusev and all his matches, and Sting's appearance, are just some of the things I haven't mentioned.

Don't forget Ambrose looking like he was well on his way to Daniel Bryan overness, only to be put in a 100% heat free feud with Bray Wyatt (the eater of overness).

Despite all the good things this year. NXT, WrestleMania, Summerslam, Survivor Series, every single one of them is devalued, sometimes the VERY NEXT WEEK, which shows me there needs to be some big time improvement, especially in the booking and creative side with how it's been said RAW's are rewritten.
How NXT Stars who kill it and are over in NXT, die when they are called up due to their awful booking... there is something clearly wrong when you destroy stars momentum that quickly. When you can see how well they can get over with someone else in charge as opposed to when Vince and co. are in charge. It's kinda like the Indies-WWE transition except now a lot more people are seeing it...
This honestly had potential to be a FANTASTIC year, but this was instead the year that showcased, more than any other, WWE needs some HUGE change behind the scenes, because this company will not grow and get better without it.

I went with F. Bryan winning at WrestleMania was awesome, but the show could've still ended with just Batista vs. Orton hadn't it been for them about-facing that blunder.
Granted, things have not gone in favor of the company, but the burial of talent, the horrid utilization of Lesnar, the payoff for ending Undertaker's streak, and how the company keeps making fun of PPV buyers soured my opinion with the product.
I'm very pessimistic with the company in 2015.

That's being generous. I gave it that for Bryan's win at WrestleMania. It would have been higher if he didn't get injured at the belt going back to old faithful. 2014 was shit. Look at this garbage:
An absentee champion
The screwing up of fan favorite stables (Wyatts and Shield)
The Bella feud
The boring ass and never ending Authority storyline
The results of Survivor Series being moot at this point
Another Big Show push
Sandow playing a comedy character to the Miz
Making Dean Ambrose look like an idiot who just cannot win the big one in his feuds
Having the wrong guy end the streak in a not so good match
I could go on...but you get the point. 2014 rivals 1995 in terms of shittiness. Only difference is 2014 didn't have all the hokey gimmicks.

Main roster: C- I think the first half of the year was great but they had nothing after Summerslam. I'd really love to have seen what they'd have done with Bryan had he not been injured. Always heard the plan was to go until Summerslam and I do think Brock was the end game which made far more sense than Cena. Where they go after Bryan loses would have been fun to see.
NXT: B+ A few things that are more than a little rough but so much more bad than good.
