If your answer isn't They Live, there is something seriously wrong with you. I can't say They Live because that's A-list baby. This! A million times this! Among my friends and family, I seem to be the only one who remembers this film. I absolutely LOVED it Never forget... {Spoiler}

They Live was in theaters, so would it count as a B movie? B-movies were still getting considerable theater run in the 80's. All-time B-movie king Roger Corman had a ton of movies in the theaters back then. My fave for the era from him would be Galaxy of Terror or Humanoids from the Deep. The flick I'd disqualify is Ice Pirates. True it certainly wasn't a big-budget major release but it wasn't really a B-movie either. It had a solid budget, several name actors, and widespread marketing/distribution.

The Evil Dead. I realize this film became very well-known and renowned, but it was still a super-low budget film with inexperienced filmmakers and actors.

Definitely a B-movie and definitely a classic, but I don't think you can call it sci-fi. I'd say Evil Dead 2 was a B-movie also. Army of Darkness crossed over.

I see supernatural/monster/zombie horror and sci-fi as such close cousins that I tend to lump them together in my head.

Space Mutiny.
I have the non-MST'd DVD, and watch it fairly often.
