I know this isn't exactly a popular subject especially among those of us that have followed the indie circuit for years or at least did when a lot of WWE signees were active but I think that in the Era of WWE changing names for ownership purposes, they've hit on a few solid names. KENTA to Hideo Itami, Prince Devitt to Finn Bàlor, Kevin Steen to Kevin Owen, El Generico to Sami Zayn, Claudio Castagnoli to Antonio Cesaro (not a fan of just Cesaro though), and even Bryan Danielson to Daniel Bryan were all excellent choices for renaming talent.
What are some of your favorite and least favorite changes?

Most.
People need to move on from FCW. The NXT name prediction guessing games are so lame and never give NXT the benefit of the doubt. Also operates on the belief names are imposed on people without their input.

Seth Rollins was a great name change.
Still don't know about Dean Ambrose, sounds like a spoiled rich kid's name.
Even though Hideo Itami is cool sounding I think they should have made an exception and let him keep KENTA.

Hideo Itami - sounds cool Sami Zayn - Not cool The only thing I didn't like about Sami Zayn, is that at first I would get it confused with Sami Callihan, who is now Solomon Crowe.

I don't generally have a problem getting used to name changes since they've yet to really come up with a blatantly bad name, but Kevin Owens is probably my favorite just because of how it came about.

None. I just begrudgingly accept them.

Good: Hideo Itami, Dean Ambrose, Antonio Cesaro, Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan and Adrian Neville
Okay: Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens
Bad: Kassius Ohno and Finn Balor
So, to me, that's not a bad record.

All of them, you just have to give it a while to get used to. Same. A lot of the names nowadays aren't even out and out bad, just different. After I've heard it for a few months and gotten used to it, I've got no problem using the name for that performer.

I always felt Daniel Brian rolled off the tongue better then Bryan Danielson I am the exact opposite. Maybe it is the years spent calling him by his real name but Daniel Bryan just feels clunky and wrong compared to Brian Danielson. Not that I hate it or anything, it has just never felt natural like most others.

I think people forget this isn't FCW anymore, so no more Michael McGillicuty's or Husky Harris' (hopefully).

I find it hard to use Rollins' full name because over here in England the name Seth is mostly associated with 92 year olds.

I think people forget this isn't FCW anymore, so no more Michael McGillicuty's or Husky Harris' (hopefully). But that also ties into the other side- NXT is really popular (while FCW was more obscure), and NXT is also relatively easy to come across through the Network (as opposed to FCW, where you either had to live in Florida and get it locally or acquire it using dubious means to get it). As a result, people who undeniably would have looked like they had stupid names (Bull Dempsey, Mojo Rawley) or weird looks (Enzo Amore), who would be maligned as FCW CAW-types in most cases, can end up getting given a fair chance that they would have never received in FCW.
