OK so I get roped into buying a brand new husky puppy from my GF. She finds an adorable one on Craigslist for a grand. I tell her to make sure it's healthy had its shots, you know the usual she tells me it's fine. We buy him and he wouldn't walk or do most anything so we brought him to the vet they want to keep him for the day run tests. That's another 750 on top of the cash we dropped yesterday on puppy chow, crate, chew toys, and a bed. Well the vet calls the dog is f***ING BLIND! Now we both work we don't have the time to train a blind pup. So she balling about how we're most likely going to have to give him up. Which will must likely be a death sentence cause who will adopt a f***ing blind dog. I'm pissed all this money I just blew, all this shit I can't use and I also liked the dog. Well f*** me for thinking I could have something nice. Really f*** those f***ers who sold us this dog. f***ing lying right to our f***ing faces that the dog was healthy taking our money. These people are scum of the earth!
Now question time 1. Is there anything we can do law wise or our we f***ed? 2. Anyone in the Las Vegas Metro area that might want a blind puppy who could take of him?
Thanks for listening to me vent.

Quite a lot of caring people will gladly adopt blind animals.
Unfortunately, I'm not in Las Vegas, and even if I were, I wouldn't be able to take him in sadly as much as I'd love to.
I hope someone helps you out.

I hope someone can help out and give the puppy a nice life. I am sorry that you spent that much and may have to give it up.

I have a blind dog. She has been blind from birth and unless you knew she was blind, you would never know. Dogs senses are far better than humans and they adjust to blindness far FAR better than a human will. They will ever learn naturally not to cross roads because of the noise.
I advise that you keep her. in a year or so you wont even know she is blind if you just have a little more patience than you would with a dog that can see. trust me. PM me if you want to talk about it I have lots of advice and whatnot for you.

If you're lucky. Mine cost me $850, then we got him home and he started having disgusting diharea all over my house (as opposed to all that not so disgusting diharea). We found out he had some stomach ailment called "whip-worm" and it cost us another $850 to get him the medicine to cure it. I feel the OP's pain.

I have an English Bulldog and he was 1000 dollars and he was cheap. Most are 1500 plus. If you decide to give him up, I'd try to find a Siberian rescue. Most of them are really good. As far as a legal standpoint, I don't think you have anything. Did you sign papers or get any papers for the pup?

They can cost more. Especially over here in the UK, if they have all their papers etc, then can cost way more. I mean, I've got an English Springer Spaniel, purebred, and if she'd been registered with the kennel club etc, they could've charged well over a thousand, and believe me, some folks were. But luckily, we went to a local farm that'd had a litter, and got her for £200 IIRC, well worth it. Our Border Collie was a similar price, again, would've been way more if he'd been registered and had all his papers. I remember a while back, girl I knew had been dating a dude for two months and he got her a pug puppy. Cost him £1.2 grand, then a few weeks later, he cheated on her and they split. Daft move on his part! Anyway, hopefully you can find it a good home if you don't keep it. One of my old dogs was a rescue that was mostly blind, but it never really effected her too much.

Update time:
We we're refunded our money we spent on the puppy by the breeder because Nevada law prevents the selling of sick animals. Still out almost a grand on the vet plus all the puppy stuff we bought. Good news one of the vet technicians fell in love with him and offered to adopt him, which we excepted so he has found a good home.
