So I remember this:
Now yes, I know Rock treated Mankind like crap. So when he gets "caught" Mankind lashes out on him. We know Al Snow sort of set him up and then in between we get stuff like this:
So yes, Al Snow winds up being the bad guy and he gets the heel turn. In between though, didn't Mankind and Snow win the tag titles? So was the heel turn before or after this? Why turn Al heel? I mean, he wasn't on the same level as Rock anyways.
And then, if I remember correctly, was Mankind going to turn heel and we get another re-hash of the Rock-Mankind feud with the roles reversed and Cactus Jack was going to battle The Rock.
So with all these intertwined story-lines, did this story line get the proper finish, or was this simply Russo, because he left when the story line started.
So what does everybody want? Rock-Cactus feud? Rock-Al feud? Mankind-Al feud?

If i remember corretly, Rock and Snow had a few TV matches where Snow won one and the feud ended on Raw or Smackdown. I think it was filler in the build to Royal Rumble 2000.
The biggest problem with Snow turning heel is you took away his head gimmick, which is what got him over to begin with.

I love Mick's "grow up" promo to the Rock. It did a lot of good for Rock's face character to be called out like that, considering that he's mostly a dick regardless of alignment and it all paid off in a selfless act in him demanding Mick's job back.

I remember heel Al Snow being pretty convincing as a miserable human being who despised the fans.
And Rock constantly mistaking Al for a janitor, who "cleans piss out of toilets". I've done my share of janitorial duties, but not once have I cleaned piss out of a toilet.

I remember hearing that Al Snow was pissed off at the Rock for completely ignoring him during the 2000 Royal Rumble match. He felt that their recent mini-feud warranted some sort of confrontation as a blow off to their storyline.

Foley said the storyline never came to fruition as in order to buy Foley's heel turn, Rock had to look sympathetic, and by that... he'd have to start softening and even liking Mankind. However, Rocky never budged.. at least not enough to Foley's liking. So he gave up, basically told him the storyline was done and they went their separate ways.

Foley is wonderful in that first segment. Funny and sad.
He spoke about in one of his books how he thought it would help Rock's character because Rock's character was fundamentally cold and mean.

You left out Val Venis being part of that story with the promo where Foley told Venis he wanted what was in his pants and told him to whip it out. {Spoiler}It was Mr. Rocko

My guess is the Venis push was a Russo thing they just scrapped after he left.
