Hmm...I say if Bryan doesnt win there will be a negative reaction, but I dont think it will be like last year.
Totally different circumstances.

What would be the official determinant of whether or not the reaction is worse than last year though? Unless the crowd is lukewarm this year, there would be no real concrete way to say which side won. It'd just be a bunch of people arguing that their side won.

I actually do believe that Bryan will win this year. In the event that he doesn't, I do sense a backlash, although on a much smaller scale. We don't have a storyline going right now that requires him to win like we did last year.

Unless the crowd is lukewarm this year, there would be no real concrete way to say which side won. It'd just be a bunch of people arguing that their side won. Honestly, this is the reason I'd say the timing for this wager won't work- the best determinant of whether or not the reaction is worse than last year was there: Last year, the reaction to Batista's win was so bad that Batista had to finish up his storyline with Alberto Del Rio and then immediately turn heel over the reactions (and the WWE did mention during his heel turn a big reason for it was "The fans wanted Daniel Bryan instead" on the Raw his heel turn started, so it's not fans putting a narrative there.) With that in mind, my proposal for the wager determinant: -IF Roman Reigns wins the Royal Rumble, and the crowd does NOT turn him heel OR a significant anti-Reigns backlash happens between now and Money in the Bank, then there was not a negative response similar to Daniel Bryan's- and the "he does not win" claim is there.

I thought about starting one the other day, with just, "If Reigns wins the title by Mania." Crowd reactions are in some ways too subjectively judged to make for a decent competition.

Not doing a bet, but there's no way that it will be even close to last years reaction. That was the perfect storm of WWE shit booking.

Bryan is not going to win, Roman Reigns is going to win it. He is on the fast track to stardom.
It would be awesome though if WWE paid Batista for a 2 night deal to win the rumble and then sell his spot at wrestlemaina to Rolins just to troll the smart mark fans.

There's two different things, here; there's Bryan not winning and there's Reigns winning. I think the latter is what the Philly fans are going to be most leery of. In fact, I'll kind of be shocked if there isn't a sign that starts with "IF REIGNS WINS..."

But making fun of Roman Reigns is like 3/4 of my posts.
I need to get something for winning. =P

I was thinking about this earlier - if Reigns wins and there is a backlash is it because Bryan doesn't win, Reigns does win or a combination of both?

I remember before that Raw in Chicago when most people seemed to have money on something close to a riot.

No, the reaction this year will pale in comparisons to last year because everyone will be expecting for it to be better. And the WWE, for as stupid as they are, probably will just lower the volume of the crowds mics if it is anyway.
