And now, more Super Bowl ads to make you cry. Although this one might not make you cry, but get you pumped up instead. Dalmatian: "YOU'RE GONNA EAT LIGHTNING AND YOU'RE GONNA CRAP THUNDER!!!!!" Clydesdale: "Wouldn't that hurt in many wa-" Dalmatian: "CRAP THUNDER, DAMMIT!!!!" I don't know after a while I just expected the Budwiser commercial and it lost the effect and started to feel forced

The Patriots are heels. They are supposed to cheat. That's why the NFL has built up the face Seahawks team so strongly. Our clean cut hero Russell Wilson is going to take down the evil Tom Brady at Super Bowl Mania Tom's gotta make Russell look strong thoug- CM Punk: "GOD DAMMIT!!! I GET IT!!!! MOTHER F***ER!!!!"

They can take draft picks.
I don't think it mattered anyway. The Colts were a shit team with a great quarterback the entire year. They just lucked out in playing a Bengals team that perpetually chokes in the playoffs and a Broncos team with a playing-injured Peyton Manning.

Well, damage has been done. Even if the Patriots are cleared of all allegations, you will get people who will still say they did it and went back to cheating to win it all, if they win it all.

They can take draft picks. Part of me thinks Belichick would get pissed if they took his 4th-6th round picks, but he'd totally shrug off a 1st rounder and laugh about it.

Wouldn't a deflated ball be easier to catch?

Yes, if you're expecting a deflated ball it's easier to catch in the rain. But if one team knows about it and the other doesn't, it puts the other team's QB at a disadvantage. They have to adjust their throwing to a ball with less density.
And this is the thing that rubs me wrong about the Pats. They're such sore winners when they don't need to be. They outclassed the Colts in every single category. They didn't need to resort to shenanigans to beat them.

Wouldn't a deflated ball be easier to catch? The issue about the deflated ball isn't if it's easier to catch or harder to throw, or anything specific that's related to physics. It just feels different all-around than a properly-inflated football. If the Patriots knew that the game balls were going to be deflated, they could've offset the issues related to everything by practicing with deflated balls. That's where the advantage comes from.

It doesn't matter if the Patriots needed to do it to win (obviously they didn't) but if they actually did that, that's still cheating as far as I know. It's still against the rules, and should still be punished. Exactly. No one who watched that game thought that it was why they lost. They lost because they were the inferior team and it was obvious. As a Colts fan, I got a little more out of this season than I expected. I expected an AFC South title (got it) and a playoff win (got 2), and I expected Luck to lead the league in at least one passing category (led the league in TDs). Getting to the AFC Championship game was a bit more than I expected, but at no point did I think they had enough to win the AFC title (and I was right). The Colts had a good run and don't have anything to be ashamed of. Not every team is going to put together an amazing postseason and go to the Super Bowl, and Indy was unquestionably one of the best four teams in the AFC, and lost to the best team in the AFC. For a team that has so many holes to fill, Indy played admirably though, and their future is looking pretty bright. Besides, the AFC Championship this season was nothing more than an opportunity to be Seattle's (or Green Bay's, if the Packers had won) sacrificial lamb.

This is why I hate the Patriots. They accuse the Jets for tampering because the owner said it was Izdik who didn't want Revis and the Jets would welcome him back. But then we get reports of them deflating footballs. The whole organization is filled with hypocrites.

They outclassed the Colts in every single category. They didn't need to resort to shenanigans to beat them. Well, it would have offered them an advantage because it made all runners less likely to fumble the ball, which would be a serious concern in a monsoon like they played in. If the Colts had a better run game, they would have benefited from that as much as the Patriots, but they don't have that. Again, the Patriots were the superior team, but it burns my ass that this team seems to cheat fairly often (spygate, recording the Rams practice, scrambled radio signals, and now deflated balls) when they don't really need to, pitch a fit over getting caught, and then still get to be called a classy organization by the media (particularly ESPN). If they are scummy and prone to cheating, call them on it. If they get away with it and win games, so be it. I could hate the Eagles because of how their fans act, but it is not as though anyone acts like Philly fans are anything other than what they are.

Until it's proven that they did anything, why don't we stop talking like it's a 100% fact that they did

Until it's proven that they did anything, why don't we stop talking like it's a 100% fact that they did We have two weeks before we will have anything real to talk about, football-wise. What else do you expect people to talk about? Whether or not the Patriots clearly were the best team in the AFC? Clearly, even with the allegations they were. Whether or not the Packers choked? They did. Whether or not the Seahawks had a good comeback? They did, and Green Bay choking only helped it but did not cause it. Whether or not some of the teams that hired new coaches recently made the right choice? Only time will tell. Perhaps the coaches who were not stellar before will be a perfect fit for their new team (who honestly thought the Belichick was a good one at the time?) Because this is the Internet, where tweets are totally reliable and should be treated as such. I feel compelled to point out that A) it is not some random tweet but rather a new media report by a vetted and established sports journalist, and B) the NFL confirmed it, so it is not just a tweet taken as fact.

I get what you're trying to say, but I just think people calling them every nasty name in the book over something that may or may not have happened is a bit much. If it's determined that they did nothing wrong, am I to expect people here to actually admit they're wrong?

I just realized an interesting statistic. If Brady were to win the Super Bowl, it would be the longest period of time between Super Bowl wins by a quarterback. The current record is six years (held by Roger Staubach) and Brady's mark would be ten years if he is able to win the game.
