The new season of Archer is nearly here. I know the "Archer Vice" season polarized many of the fans. I enjoyed it for what it was although I am glad the show is returning to it's roots. However the agency won't be named ISIS any longer.
Here is the trailer.
I'm really looking forward to this season.

Can't freakin' wait. I thought last season was just as funny as all the others, but I guess some people really can't handle change. I am glad they're going back to the spy stuff, because the drug-running could only go so far, while this will provide more antics.

YAY! The wait is almost over! Kind of figured they'd drop ISIS moniker because of well real life, though I do hope they pay a small bit of lip service to the name change.
Archer: So we're not ISIS anymore?
Mallory: Yes, while we were out gallivanting about unsuccessfully selling narcotics, some filthy foreign group snatched up the rights to the ISIS name.
Lana: You don't mean...
Mallory: The Italian Society of Iron Smelters.

The only episode I didn't like was the Kenny Loggins episode but it was a pure filler fan service/fan worship episode

The only thing I didn't like last season was Pam. She's great as a secondary character but her being the focus of a few episodes where all she did was be obnoxious did nothing for me.

The problem with last season is that it really felt like they didn't know how to fit the whole roster in the show organically. Like at some points you questioned why bother showing Ray or Pam or who ever this episode.

Season 5 sucked. Hard.
It was some how worse than season 3, which was a wasteland of terrible story's that went nowhere.
Hopefully they will get back on track again.

I think last season was probably the weakest of the 5, but I still enjoyed it. It was fun, but not as sharp as the rest. That promo alone though.......... ----------- I normally don't post this kind of stuff here, but apparently some hacked photos of Pam Poovey were put up on line. Pretty hot stuff uproxx.com/tv/2015/01/pam-poovey-archer-phone-hacking/

first ep of S6 was terrific. I really miss and love this show.
Cheryl and Pam are just the best side characters ever.
"EVERY THING IS EXACTLY THE WAY IT USED TO BE!!!" loved that little call to the audience with Cheryl yelling at Mallory.
They did a big time jump where a lot of stuff happened, but that last moment with the cell phone on the beach. WOW. very legit dramatic moment from an animated comedy show.

Loved the first episode.
But it seems I may be in a minority in that I LOVED the last season. Not so much on first viewing but when I re-watched its actually really funny and kind of a well told story.

Nah, I too thought last season was fine. Sure the premise changed, but the humor and characters were as sharp as ever.
Anyways season six was off to flying start with taking one of the most cliched plots since the advent of television and actually making a good story out of it. And yeah I also thought the beach scene was pretty touching and shows that at times even a self absorbed douche like Archer can be pretty likable.
