We were running some wood paneling along one of his living room walls. They're really high. This necessitated scaffolding. They're really high. This necessitated a ladder on the scaffolding. Stupid, but what can you do? He's the type of person that fancies himself a handyman and has to do things his way. So he leans the ladder against the wall and nails a board to the scaffold surface to brace it. Problem is, he's like 260 and the nature of gravity didn't agree with that decision. The board comes loose, the ladder kicks out, the scaffold topples and he tumbles a good ten-fifteen feet directly onto his face. I tried stop it, but it happened very quickly and I'm not Ryback. The momentum shoved me to the ground like a little bitch. He relatively okay, but it just made me so sad. We really have never gotten along, but in the end he's just some old dude that wanted to make he and my Mothers' house better and I don't want to see him come to harm. Poor guy.

At least he is relatively ok, that could have been pretty bad man. Now after some time you all will be joking about it.

OK, seeing as you said he came out relatively OK from this and is not in serious condition...
This wouldn't have happened if he had learned how to fall off a 20-foot ladder.

E-C-DUB, E-C-DUB, E-C-DUB! Damn! Beat me to it...... Seriously though, hopefully he's okay. I did something similar while trying to nail some boards onto the roof of a garden shed. My douchebag friend started chanting 'ECW'!! When I took a header off the roof and crashed through a rose bush..... Apparently, I don't know 'how to work......'

I thought the title was My Stepfather Just Took A Monster Dump. This is very disappointing.

Your stepfather needs to build up to these things. He can't just take a fall from a ladder for no reason.
4/10. Disappointed in him.

Hope he recovers fine. But how tempted where you to start with "YOU F***** UP! YOU F***** UP!!! Marginally. My dopey heart kicked in though. The thing that got me was him saying "Not again!" Amidst his wailing. Alluding to an earlier incident where he apparently bit it on some ice and cracked a rib. It's a strange headspace. We have this guy that largely sucks and put a damper on my late teen-early twenty-something years that I've HATED at times become someone to pity and feel for in literally one instant. In that moment, he wasn't a self important anus. He was just a victim. He wasn't my Mom's husband. He was my sorta Dad and the fact that "he f***ed up! He f***ed up!" pulled my sympathy something wacky.

I swear I thought this thread said 'just took a monster dump' when I first saw the title. I hope he's alright. My dad (who is in his 70s) had a fall last week. He's fine.

I read this as "monster dump" and wondered why you were telling us this. I bet that he took a monster dump due to the impact of that monster bump. Hopefully his muffler was adequate.

I don't want to start a new thread so I'll just go over the Monster Bump I saw last night.
I took my boys to see Monster Jam (monster trucks) and they were doing some motor-cross-stunt-freestyle thing during intermission where the guys drove their bikes up some ramp, flew into the air twenty-five or thirty feet, did little break dance moves and landed. Well one guy did his move and I could tell it wasn't going to end well. He came off his bike on the way down and landed on his side. I think. It happened so fast that I don't remember what he landed on but I know it wasn't his dirtbike. I think he may have broken every bone in his body.
There are three things that I can't decide are the saddest part of the whole event: 1. He was probably getting paid fifty dollars. 2. I tried to look up on the internet and find an update on the poor guy and I can't find anything, even on Maple Leaf Monster Jams website. 3. I laughed my ass off when it happened.
