At least this ends the 'rigged for Junior' conspiracy theorists.

It's a good thing I'm not a NASCAR driver. I would intentionally wreck Harvick at Martinsville, and then give him the finger as I drive by.

He's been their next big thing for about a decade and they are in desperate need of a heel for someone to take down since they ran the Busch boys out of the role.

They knew the #4 was failing from radio broadcasts and the first start and yet created a dangerous situation by allowing that car to remain on the track. If it had been a Start and Parker they would have black flagged him straight away.

But no, this is NASCAR we're talking about.

NASCAR said that the lights were not a valid start or end to the race in their rush to wash away the first GWC but on the second used their triggering of the lights to decide the finish. Crazy shit

Crazy shit This pretty much sums up any officials in any form of sports, whether it be baseball, football, or motorsports this year:

All this needs now is for someone to get jumped in between the trucks again and we have a full-on wrestling show happening.

Get in Lewis Nice to see a British driver actually win something convincingly for once. Thank you for not leaving it to the very last corner of the very last race. Dat Nico hat throw tho...

I was thinking about this while driving home with the race on MRN today. The way the elimination system is set up, combined with the whole "We're only going to do the GWC once, seriously guys" lends itself perfectly to team orders or 'going into business for yourself'.
I mean seriously, if you were a teammate of someone or even, say, a Harvick, who wasn't in any immediate danger but could benefit from keeping someone like Dale Jr. out of contention, why WOULDN'T you find a way to cause a caution?
Not saying that Harvick did anything intentionally or what have you, but the situation that unfolded at the end of Talladega today was practically begging for something fishy to go on.
I'm also honestly surprised that the fans at Dega didn't riot when they called the race for Logano, or at least throw garbage all over the track again.

They threw garbage, not a lot but did throw. Ah. I turned off the radio as soon as it ended so I didn't see. I imagine it wasn't as bad as that one race around... 2006ish? where it was so bad it was pretty much WCW after an nWo attack afterwards.

They'll still find a way to say it's rigged for Dale Jr. My dad has been saying for months that NASCAR is rigging this for Logano. He's currently watching this race via DVR. Pretty sure I'll be told this again once he sees the end. This stupid Chase screwed him out of a championship last year, NASCAR should be rigging every race of this thing for Logano because it will at least right that atrocity from last year. Kevin Harvick gets no respect from me for anything he did last year. Joey Logano is and always will be the 2014 Sprint Cup Champion as far as I've been concerned. I don't care what the record books say, he won that title fair and square. And you can tell your dad I said that too.
