and now we go the US grand prix, LIVE FROM COLORADO .....
Sure, come on up here, Nic-Nic.
[the drivers laugh, and Lewwy approaches]
Niccy, ladies and gentlemen. Let's give him a hand, very much. Come to think of it, give him a championship, too.
[laughter. Niccy gets angry when Lewwy offers him a sponsors cap.]
Here, Niccy, put on this silly hat.
[Niccy throws the hat down. Lewwy picks it back up and offers it again.]
Just for a second, Niccy.
[Niccy throws the hat back at him, and he picks it up again]
Don't be a jerk, Niccy.
[approaches with the hat, but Niccy smacks him away]
Hey, don't TOUCH ME!

Harvick is officially in the Chase. Bull. Shit. It was bullshit from the moment Kyle Busch was put in.

Rosberg is an incredibly sore loser. Mercedes should dump him. He's toxic for the team.

Rosberg is an incredibly sore loser. Mercedes should dump him. He's toxic for the team. I get where Rosberg is coming from though. If things between he and Hamilton are supposed to be even as far as the car is concerned, it would definitely be frustrating to have a few of the reliability problems he's had while outside of Singapore, Hamilton's been pretty much flawless. Although, like yesterday, Rosberg blew it as well. So I guess it goes both ways. But yeah, I can see why Rosberg got upset. Not to mention that it came of as real douchey(probably not intended to be, but still) when HAM just threw the 2nd place hat at Nico. However, I do agree with you that Nico needs to move on to a new team.

2016 IndyCar Series schedule
March 13 - St. Petersburg (Street)
April 2 - Phoenix International Raceway (Oval) April 17 - Long Beach (Street) April 24 - Barber Motorsports Park (Road)
May 14 - Indianapolis Motor Speedway (Road) May 29 - Indianapolis Motor Speedway (Oval)
June 4 - Belle Isle (Street) June 5 - Belle Isle (Street) June 11 - Texas Motor Speedway (Oval) June 26 - Road America (Road)
July 10 - Iowa Speedway (Oval) July 17 - Toronto (Street) July 31 - Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course (Road)
August 21 - Pocono (Oval)
September 4 - Boston (Street) September 18 - Sonoma (Road)
Disappointed but not surprised that Milwaukee and Auto Club are gone. Hyped for Road America. Mostly returning venues near the same dates as last year, which is a good thing. Hope they get a good layout for Boston. Thought Sonoma was going to be boring this season for the final race but it was a lot of fun, so glad to see that back as the closer. Those are going to be three LONG weeks at the beginning of August.

Those are going to be three LONG weeks at the beginning of August. You can blame the Olympics for that big break. Seeing as though NBC and all it's tv partners will be broadcasting the games(including NBCSN), this was the only weekend that made sense. It worked out though since this is around the same time the race has occurred the past couple of years now. Anyways, I feel awful that Milwaukee isn't on the schedule, but when people don't show up despite Michael's best efforts to keep it alive, what can you do? Anyways, I hope it comes back in 2017 along with that race at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City as has been rumored to be on the schedule for 2017.

I feel like the deteriorating relationship between Rosberg and Hamilton is going to make next year very entertaining. I think they're past the point of being told to cool their heels and honestly I don't think F1 will mind having another grumpy teammate rivalry. Not quite Senna/Prost yet mostly because Rosberg, while a good driver, is becoming more of the Rubens Barrichello to Hamilton's Schumacher performance-wise.

And for the first time since 1992, Formula 1 is away and racing in Mexico.
Early puncture for Vettel after contact with Ricciardo.

Kenseth just bumped Logano with ~50 to go, costing Logano the lead. Crowd cheered.

Well, it's not like we can't say we didn't see that coming. And honestly if there's such a thing as a 'safest track on which to intentionally wreck someone', Martinsville's that track. Better than Kenseth pulling that stunt at Talladega or a bigger track.
I'm honestly more annoyed by the impending flood of "NASCRAP WWF" comments here, there, and everywhere than I am about the retribution.
That being said, I saw an intriguing comment that postulates that Kenseth has internalized the notion that the Chase was created solely because his 2003 championship was 'too boring' and that he's a 'boring driver', so now we see him driving like -this-. It actually makes a whole bunch of sense. Push the Midwestern Nice too far and this is what you get.

I remember when Gordon first started. Many fans, including myself, didn't like him, seeing him as some pretty boy coming in to a sport of roughnecks, including the Intimidator. But many forget that Dale Sr. liked and respected Jeff. And when he'd win, there'd be boos from the fans.
Now, it's almost come to a complete 180. The fans want to see the last of the old guard leave with a championship. And I'm right there with them.
Let's go get No. 5 for you, Jeff!!

^ In hindsight, even though it's become a very iconic paint scheme, I really wonder whose bright idea it was to give this pretty boy who was already being denigrated for his looks, a rainbow paint scheme. You go back and look at late 90s NASCAR usenet posts or web articles from that period, or hell, even Winston Cup Scene, and they're full of thinly veiled homophobic insinuations towards him. He had to put up with the same deal as Tom Cruise in the sense of people suggesting that Brooke was his beard and all that.
It's good to see the fanbase come full circle on that, because having started watching NASCAR in the mid 90s, I remember all too well the vitriol the fans had towards him. I hope he takes it.

Funny thing is, I really liked that paint scheme. When I was younger, I was like, "Dammit, why does a guy I don't like have to race a car that I like?" Always liked that car look.

I think most people did, they just weren't willing to admit it. And it definitely helped usher in what I'd argue was the peak of cool paint schemes in NASCAR, from about 1994-1995 to 2003 or so. After 2003 is when I recall schemes getting a little too complex yet generically spiky and aggressive for their own good; I think that's also when wraps started becoming more prevalent.
