I love the impending explosion of the blue collars. THey even predicted their own fate. If we vote out one of the girls we lose the other. YUP! And then the campfire burnout to top it off followed by the karmic merge. Then Dan comes into to right his wrongs because he knows women. So he immediately apologizes in the worst way possible and ends up pissing her off worse.

I've never seen tribes less worried about winning challenges than this cast. Three times this season they've let a challenge liability slide to get rid of someone more annoying or untrustworthy. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
I'm struggling to find likable characters or legitimate favorites to win the game yet. I like Joe, Kelly, and Shirin, but I can see how she could get old quickly. I also like Hali, but that's mainly because of looks, and I'm not proud of it. If I had to qredict a winner now, it'd probably be Kelly or Jenn, maybe Tyler, but he doesn't stand out much.
And holy shit they made that Max vote wayyyyy obvious. It was Kat 2.0.

I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Well the other 3 tribe season had a shuffle at 14 and merge at 12. Given the format of the season outside of maybe a loss in the first challenge the best strategy in the majority should be less about challenge strength and more about getting a group together you can trust.

Max is one of only two guys. You just got dusted. Maybe keep one of those two guys for challenges. Just sayin'. On the other hand, Hali is really growing on me. Sad for Max as I kinda feel bad for him and Shirin. That said that tribe were gonna get smoked in the next challenge if its physical regardless of who they vote out. The only way they are winning next episode if if the other tribes throws the challenge or if there is some super complex puzzle that takes up most of the time in the challenge.

Well, none of those seasons actually merged at 12. The first had them combine into 2 tribes at 14, then threw in a surprise swap at 10, then merged at 9. Prior to that, they usually merged at 10, with the first post-merge boot not joining the jury. The last two merged at 11, but in both those cases, there was a non-gameplay elimination along with two Tribal Councils. So it's probable that unless something unexpected happens next week, they'll be merging with an even number for the first time in a three tribe season. So it's important to establish numbers, otherwise you risk just missing the jury. Also, I like how this season and Cagayan had a random shuffle, rather than just absorbing the tribe with the fewest people left. Instead of bringing one or two outsiders into a tribe with established alliances, now there's the risk of having your alliance split up midgame and forces people to create new, potentially temporary alliances to stay in the game a bit longer.

Here's my review for the episode, which I thought was pretty good at illustrating why it's not always a positive to be a superfan of the show while ON the show: www.rickey.org/survivor-worlds-apart-review-sometimes-being-a-super-fan-doesnt-always-help/278048/That said, while I think people like Dan, Rodney and Mike get too much screentime, this has been a pretty impressive season in balancing it all out, so that almost everyone is getting significant screentime. Seriously, I could rattle off everyone by name and tribe by the second episode of this season, and it usually takes me until episode 3 at the earliest to even have a working memory of everybody in the game, much less by tribe. It's all over the place in the strategy department, but I'm digging this season overall.

I'm okay wit Max going. Mainly because of Shirin. I loved her at Tribal 'Oh yeah...there will be a blind side.' *shit eating grin slowly fades into horror as Max's name keeps coming up* I absolutely love it when someone gets so smug and comfortable in the game that they forget that at the end of the day, it's a game.

My father (relatively casual fan) has absolutely no sympy for anybody on this show.

So is it safe to say SJDS killed Survivor on FAN? That kinda sucks because this season is far better.

My Survivor interest sort of ebbs and flows. I always watch, but some seasons peak my interest more than others. This season does interest me so far (though not as much as Cagayan). Part of the reason I haven't posted here a lot is because I've had to work through episodes 2/3/4/half of 5 this season. Also I'm not very talkative anyway, that's the other part.

Joe? Why not Dan?
I get the feeling Rodney's way overplaying his hand.

"Mike staring, AT A CURTAIN!" Also, Probst should've told Kelly "You're right... about being wrong!"

By the way, who has idols? I've missed chunks of this season.
