My dad and I were watching tonight and he's very much not a fan, but he was certain she was going t go home with the Idol in her pocket. I had a feeling she'd play it, though. Brilliant on her part in more ways than one.

Even though I was rooting for Will to stick with the No Collars I can see why he went the way he did. If he sticks with them and they have the numbers he is the low man on the totem pole,if he sticks with them and they don't have the numbers he is setting himself up with a sinking ship. Curious to see if Tyler/Carolyn can use their position in the middle to get themselves further like Jon/Jacalyn did last year.

My review: www.rickey.org/?p=278888The editing tonight was masterful. When Jeff asks if anyone has an idol they'd like to play, they cut to Jenn and hold on her, and then cut to Carolyn to make it seem like Jenn has let the opportunity pass. And then, at the absolute last minute, from off-screen... "Jeff?" I squealed like Bobby Hill. The editing has been on point this season, keeping an air of genuine mystery on even the most obvious vote, and leaving bread crumbs in the edit so we could piece together why the vote happened the way it did. Loving it.

Honestly, that was one of the best idol plays I've seen on the show, in terms of both what it accomplished, and from an editing standpoint.
Jenn had no guarantee she was in trouble, just an inclination. She played it on a suspicion that turned out to be on the money and it saved her ass big time. And the fact that the editing didn't give it away too soon was beautiful. It was reminiscent of Micronesia, where you had no idea if Amanda had the idol until she actually played it. And it was just as satisfying.

I wish Jenn's use of the idol (which was awesome) resulted in Dan going home. He is such an irritating try-hard. "MORE LIKE A CHAINSAW, JEFF." Shut up, Dan.

But Dan...he taps in to that part of me where I just can. not. Everything he says just GRATES.

Cable finally started to work again after a half-hour. Someone give me the quick and dirty recap of what went down. Joe won Reward and found an Idol clue, but Mike spied on him and Tyler and found the Idol himself. And then Joe won Immunity and ruined any plan to get him out.

*sighs heavily*
Just when I thought Dan was finally going to be off of my TV, they get Hali. Goddammit.
Eh. I still have Mike to root for. And if by some miracle Dan gets to the final, he's going to get eaten alive by the jury.

One of the things I dislike is that Blue didn't really win many immunity challenges they just didn't do the worst. It allowed them to skate by on mediocrity. I wish it were a weighted system if you come in last you get two points and coming in second gives you one point, winning obviously gives you none. Whenever a team gets two points they go to tribal. Blue wouldn't have been so big in numbers come merge. Now Dan, Rodney, Mike all think they somehow dominated the game up to this point. I hate all three and fear a final three of those guys.
I think Tyler missed his chance tonight. Now he can only hope to ride in as a goat to the finals. He's let "Mama C" guide him by the nose since day one and is now just a blue pawn. Dan's numbers speech was very true but not in the way he thought. Numbers matter but anybody he sticks with a huge alliance post merge and isn't 100% Boston Rob/Coach at the helm of that alliance is living a game just waiting for someone else to break their alliance and shift the numbers.
