Like if you were to talk with an alien highly interested in cinema which would you suggest? Also, try to limit it to 5.

Batman Begins Dark Knight Rises Guardians Of The Galaxy Iron Man 3 Sin City
Bear in mind I'm not really a big comic buff so these were the one's I enjoyed the most.
Also would Scott Pilgrim or Kick Ass count? If so replace Sin City & Iron Man 3 with them.

well the obvious ones to watch are the two Fantastic Four movies, Hulk, Daredevil, Elektra, Green Lantern, Spider-Man 3, X-Men 3 and X-Men Origins: Wolverine, both Ghost Rider movies, the Punisher movies, Jonah Hex, Watchmen and Man of Steel. you can skip the others.

Daredevil is legitimately on my list. I don't understand the hate that movie gets Affleck did a better brooding character than Nolans Batman, and the Marvel films completely took it's formula of campy realism and used it in every film. It is the most underrated film of it's genre. Did the Elektra follow up suck? Yep. But lets not pretend that this movie is terrible. PAAAAALEEEESE.
Daredevil The Dark Knight Captain America 2 The Winter Soldier Iron Man 1 Guardians.
EDIT: Watchmen is probably a better option than Winter Soldier since it is a sequel and continuation to films not mentioned on the list.

For me, limiting it to five, it would have to be:
Spider-Man 2 X2: X-Men United The Dark Knight Captain America: The Winter Soldier Guardians of the Galaxy
There are movies I personally liked better than Spider-Man 2, X2, and Dark Knight, but they were groundbreaking for their genre and are very well-made films.

Another reason why I want ten slots. That movie is amazing.

Road to Perdition The Incredibles Oldboy Dredd The Avengers
The hard part is whether to include sequels on it, since presumably we're talking about someone someonewho hasn't seen any. But in this premise, I want to run the gamut of movie genres an dtypes. Besides thta, comic book movies are not always synonymous with superhero movies, and some of the best ones aren't.

I saw what you did there, but the only ones that I disagree with you on the Punisher films (Depending on perspective), Watchmen and Man of Steel. Of course, for some reason, people have been complaining about Man of Steel, but I have only seen that movie once and that was in theaters.

Limiting it to five makes it difficult. I tried to vary the five to encompass multiple franchises. The tough choice was whether to include Spider-Man 2 since the first Spider-Man movie sets up characters and storylines for this movie. Spider-Man 2 Batman Begins The Dark Knight Iron Man The Avengers
