I kind of agree with this. Ambrose has the edgy badass appeal that Austin had, but unlike Austin, he's also a bit of a pretty boy who can be marketed for his sex appeal. With his Lunatic Fringe promos, I get more of a Brian Pillman vibe from him. I'd be totally down for him being the guy, but as far as a Mania match, I somehow don't see him and Lesnar meshing well in the ring, so they can hold off for now. His thing for years has pretty much been Brian Pillman's illegitimate son and it's great. In his FCW run he wore a bomber jacket, similar to one Pillman wore. I'm not sure if that was intentional or not though heh.

I don't know but I do know the WWE these days likes their "homegrown guys" to be shot up the card as quick as possible. If they see something in their dudes that can potentially be turned into greatness they give them a shot and then from that point it's up to them to deal with. Ryback is an example of this. He needed a lot of work and they gave that guy the Punk matches, the Cena stuff, Ryback's always on television. I'm not mad though since he's improved, he's a good dude. Ambrose has all the tools to make it work though. He has the look, edge, always over, can do any gimmick match possible, is loved by hardcore and casual fans, has the height, mic skills, we can relate to the everyday guy I mean it's him. He's not homegrown though. That's a problem in the company's eyes.
Austin made a comment on his podcast yesterday about Ambrose being too much of a "character" and not wrestling enough rather than brawling. He likes the kid, sees him having major potential and thinks he'll be something major in the future but that's what he wants to see out of Ambrose, more wrestling and more realism. With that I say they need to cut out the comedy shit and let him do him. Ambrose brawls but the guy is a great wrestler when he takes it seriously. Bret Hart was his idol back in the day. He can wrestle but they aren't using him for anything.
Once they get the machine behind him he'll be good. Once they let him turn serious, he'll be fine. We just have to see it more.
He has potential to be the guy but it'll be up to the company to see that. He has everything they want besides a rich family background.

That problem is that like said, He wasn't there creation. That really all there is too it. Hairline means little when Taker hair was doing the same thing for a while to the point if shaving his head. Austin did it too. Shawn Michaels MEed going bald. Hogan was balding from day one. We all want guys who are just interesting to watch in the ME. Who cares if they don't have a body like a god. Roman would be fine if he had a character that stood out. For me he just there and his promos doesn't help selling me on him. For his size he find wrestling but I'm not give that reason to care.

Ambrose has been pegged as the crazy comedy guy. Which is the total opposite of how should be booked.

High hairline doesn't always mean balding, I've had one since I was 20 (am 35 now) and if my father is anything to go by I won't significantly lose my hair until my 50s.
Ambrose is probably the same, old indie pics show him on the verge of losing his hair but if he was going to lose it, it would have happened by now. I reckon his hairline isn't budging an inch until he's well retired.

He'd be perfect if he didn't stick his tongue out randomly every 10 seconds trying to look unstable.

RAWR!" but he should be presented more seriously. Although, I have a feeling the front office or someone told him to do that with his tongue. I don't seem to remember him doing that(at least not so much) until the breakup of the Shield. His character has just been presented terribly since he came back from filming that movie.

I think his character is better than ever, and his promos are a hundred times better than when he was in the Shield. Always fun to watch. But hey, it's all personal taste.
For me him losing all his feuds lately and most matches is the problem, but I think adding humor has loosened up his promos and made him a more likable character all around. And it seemed to have him at his most over ever, when he got to headline Hell in a Cell against Rollins.
As we know from The Rock and many others, comedy can work in a main eventer. I agree WWE often forces it, like with those awful Reigns promos, but personally I think humor actually adds to Ambrose and makes him a more interesting character.
The "serious guy" Shield Ambrose to me really lacked character, and his promos droned on and on. Now he rules. So that's just another view on it for ya.

I'm a big Ambrose fan. Saw a promo of his as Jon Moxley when he won the FIP World Title way back in 2010, and I've been a fan since.
I'm sadden because this dude, like Bryan, Ziggler, and Punk before them, could really be THE guy. Hell, had he beaten Rollins at HIAC, I think that wouldve been his crowning moment, the moment that led him to superstardom. I can't wait until the machine gets behind him, because once it does, he's going to be a force to be reckoned with.

Random note, I don't think we need a "THE guy". I agree Ambrose should be WWE champion at times and should be one of the top guys, and I'd definitely pick him as "the guy" over Reigns. But I don't think we necessarily need that kind of model at all. He can be "the guy" when he's the champ for five months, then somebody else is the man for a while, then he's the man again at some point, and somebody else. Ideally Daniel Bryan and Ziggler in there somewhere etc.
But agreed on the message overall, Ambrose deserves a great push. And I would not be at all surprised if they do give it to him, I'm confident he'll at least get one or two notable moments in the sun, he'll be champion sometime in the next year or two I think. How could he not be, with Rollins as the top heel for the foreseeable future.

But there's a difference between "funny" and what Vince McMahon thinks is funny. Hell, even Austin had some intentionally funny moments. The Rock was funny, BUT, he knew when to be serious if need be. Even being funny and serious at same time like it was nothing. Ambrose does NOT need to be talking to mannequins and exploding green slime into his opponents. His current incarnation needs to be toned WAAAAYYY down and I'd be satisfied.

Did you dig his promo on the snowed in studio RAW this week for example? That's a good example of the sort of fun manic Dean Ambrose stuff that I think is him at his best. And the green goo, while nutty as hell, maybe it's my imagination but it felt like the crowd was red hot that show. I don't mind Ambrose kind of pranking his enemies, popping out of boxes etc, it adds flavor on top of the usual beatdowns. I didn't even mind the mannequin bit, though the crowd was quiet and confused I think. And still with the nuttiness, he does show that anger and intensity too when called for, so I think he's a more dynamic and well rounded character now. Ideally at least. Just give him a push.

Yes I watched it. THAT'S the the type of stuff he should be doing. Also, he needs to stop being made to look like a total idiot who can't win matches and in the dumbest ways possible. Like exploding t.v. sets. That crap needs to die a death asap.

WWE don't know how to do crazy. Take Luke Harper. Someone has clearly told him "OK man you're crazy, you have to make your eyes bulge out and look maniacal all the time" and it just looks stupid. That's the kind of shit they've got Ambrose doing. He's trying too hard to play crazy.

I thought Harper was doing fine until the totally unnecessary breakup of the Wyatt Family.
I mean, the f***s up with that awful accent they had him start using?
Totally unnecessary. All of it.

I can't stand WWE lately for the sole fact that my current favorite wrestler around who deserves a top spot more than anyone is being ignored by WWE and most fans.
