That's horrible. Not as horrible as his Invasion idea, but pretty bad nonetheless. Nothing will be as bad as his awful Invasion idea. Hulk Hogan vs. Dusty Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania in 2001. Apparently he forgot all the shoots he did on Raw complaining about older guys taking spots in WCW. I see this and think "Do people really think Jim Cornette is some kind of genius?" On what earth would making Bryan be nothing more than Reigns little buddy make Roman more liked? Why would Bryan interrupt Roman Reigns after he won the rumble? Why would Bryan give two shits about Reigns/Lesnar? A one hour draw? Motherf***** this is not Ring of Honor. Time limits do not exist in WWE unless there's an ironman match.

Cannot recall the whole thing but at WrestleMania 17 or 18 he would have had Hulk Hogan vs DUSTY RHODES as the main event. ... Yeah, there was a thread here somewhere; just WAY more convoluted than even what we got. As was mentioned, he had many of the old guard in WCW as the leader guys, completely downplaying the nWo and such. Which, hell I liked the old guard better myself, but in 2001 it didn't make any damned sense. I just hated how he never brought up DDP at all. Oh he'll just show up in a random battle royal at mania. When his dumb Terry Funk mega run with the IC title could've easily worked with DDP. But yeah...Hogan vs. Dusty. I really gotta watch that shoot again just to remind myself of all his dumb ideas.

The story was set.
Once you set up Bryan vs Lesnar, the next step is to show the narrative, and it practically writes itself. You have Heyman try to talk Bryan out of it, saying that he's simply not up to the task of facing someone like Lesnar. Heyman will say that Lesnar respects Bryan, but he's definitely going to hurt him, so for his own sake, Bryan should consider withdrawing from the match. That's the arc. A smaller underdog wrestler coming back from a serious injury who faces impossible odds.
You keep it simple. Base it on logical issues, then have the match, where the invincible monster finally realises that he's grossly underestimated his opponent, who ultimately triumphs.

After what he did to ROH, I don't ever want to hear another one of Jim's booking ideas.

If we were still in 1987, the ideas wouldn't be so bad.
But we ain't, and they are.

It's overly convoluted even for 1987

I actually don't think framework of his idea is terrible; obviously I don't see Reigns doing a 1 hour broadway, and he didn't work the submission wrestling into the Mania main event to create logical psychology, but I have to think Cornette was kind of thinking this up pretty quickly.
But the overall framework makes sense, so long as you're operating off the assumption that WWE is going to give Reigns the big Mania win, and you want to try all you can to placate Bryan's fans.
There's plenty of ways to do it so that Bryan doesn't come off as "Roman's little buddy"; you keep Bryan strong, you make him look like the boss during pre-taped segments where he's training him, etc. It works on the level that some of us agreed with going into the Rumble: if Bryan wasn't going to win, he shouldn't have been brought back to the active roster for it. By keeping Bryan in the main event storyline, with the clear tension between him and Reigns ("I'm supporting you, but remember that I never lost that belt", etc.), you also make it clear to the audience that Bryan is still a top player in the WWE, unlike what they did with his Rumble elimination, which made him look like an afterthought.
So yeah, there are definite flaws there, but I get what he's going for: if it's such a given that WWE is going to push Reigns to the top, how can you do it without denying the crowd a chance to see Bryan remain a top player? As a quick "I whipped this up and figured I'd toss it out there", I don't think it's bad; the particulars need work, the one hour draw is unrealistic, but there's at least something to work with there.

This idea is so stupid that Jim Cornette needs to give himself the Jim Cornette Face.
I get the idea of making do with what you got, but it doesn't address the problem that Reigns is still gonna have his weaknesses exposed. And, a one hour broadway at WrestleMania? Reigns can be a good performer, but he'll be so gassed after 20 minutes.

Base it on logical issues, then have the match, where the invincible monster finally realises that he's grossly underestimated his opponent, who ultimately triumphs. Well, WWE does have ANOTHER monster heel currently steamrolling the entire locker room. Spend the rest of the year building Rusev up as the next Lesnar, while Bryan struggles and has numerous setbacks and disappointments anytime that he gets close to being champion again, but in a way that keeps him highlighted and his story heavily focused on, not in a way that makes it look like he's getting buried. Continue building up and playing up that beaten down underdog story, making the fans want to see him rise back up, until he finally starts to show some of that old magic in the lead-up to the Rumble, which he wins (hey, third time's the charm, right?). Rusev takes the title off of Reigns at some point and then go with the story that you laid out only with Rusev and Lana in place of Lesnar and Heyman. That way Bryan gets to do it not only for himself, not only for his fans, not only for submission wrestling, but, in tribute to an old friend, he gets to do it for chicks... AND AMERICA!

A 25 year old would love it. Perfect.

*Bryan and Reigns meet up at the next PPV and wrestle a ONE HOUR BROADWAY Bryan's phenomenal in the ring but he's not a god, and nothing less than an act of God could drag Roman to a one-hour match, passable or otherwise.

Not sure about the one hour match but I kind of like Reigns/Bryan being like the new mega powers.

That was really bad. Why can't reigns talk then? And why would Bryan just be like "ok"?
My booking idea: - Rollins wins the triple threat by pinning Cena. - Brock is outraged that he lost the title without being pinned, - bryan and reigns enter the rumble 1 and 2. - they are the final two, and Lesnar attacks both, tossing them over the rope, declaring himself the winner - at fastlane, Cena wins the title from Rollins. After the match, he tries to cash in his briefcase, but is screwed by Orton. - reigns and Bryan wrestle a match that the authority says will go a long way in determining the number one contender for WM. Bryan goes over. - on raw, the authority claims Lesnar is the number one contender. Mr. mcmahon returns and says reigns and Bryan will not get screwed, and days they will be in the match, making it a four way.. - reigns and Bryan are the final two, and Reigns goes over. The two embrace in the ring, and we establish reigns vs Bryan as the top match.

I didn't think there was a way to get Reigns getting boo'd harder at Wrestlemania than what WWE is doing, but then I read Cornette's idea. It would work if you could convince the fans that it was legit Bryan's idea, and not just the perception of "Oh, Vince is sticking Bryan with him so he can leech off of Bryan's heat". And if they made it clear that Bryan's not yet medically cleared to wrestle (despite it not being true), which would make fans demanding him to be in a match look like assholes.
