Getting on-topic, Marvel's using Pete for 3 movies and a couple of Avengers movies, so the thought of them using Miles out of the gate is a pretty far-off dream. That being said, Marvel likes giving shout-outs to comics, so there's a good chance he'll at least make a cameo. Same with Kamala for Captain Marvel.

Another plus side to this is that hopefully it means Norman Osborne might get to do a Dark Reign style thing at some point.
I loved Dark Reign.

If they did that, I would be so jaw droppingly surprised, I would totally go with it. I have no problem with a Miles movie if that is the direction they want to go in, I know next to nothing about the character because I've never read Ultimates, but he seemed cool in the Spider-Men book. Personally, I'd like to see them go with Peter, but then end up with Superior Spider-Man. DocOck as Spidey all the way! And that's really the thing. I didn't even say I wouldn't want Peter Parker in a Miles Morales/Spider-Man movie as Peter Parker does have a big effect on Miles' backstory...it's just that it's Peter Parker who serves as Miles' "Uncle Ben." You have me do it, I'd say you cast Garfield to be killed off and serve the same role as he did in the comic. Miles' origin gets another interesting layer if you have knowledge about how Peter Parker got his start (different people play different roles), but man, getting people to actually read Miles getting his start as Spider-Man and not have them tear it to shreds in unfocused hatred is an exercise in futility. I don't even recommend people do it anymore. He IS a really fun character. Hell, if they made some sorta movie version of that Spider-Men limited series where adult Peter and Miles interacted, that'd be a blast. Get Mysterio in there, Peter confronting a world where he died, Miles interacting with his hero/inspiration.. I'd watch the hell outta that.

[Well, hasn't the consensus been that they still haven't done Spider-Man right cinematically? ( I haven't seen the Amazing Spider-Man 1 or 2 yet as of this post ) Toby Maguire was too much this or not enough that. Andrew Garfield was too much of this, or not enough of that. Straight up, am I the only fanboy on the planet that enjoyed both of them about the same? I loved Maguire's Peter and I loved Garfield's in-suit Spidey, for me their positives outweighed most of their negatives. That's another reason I'm ready for Miles, I got what I wanted twice over.

And this is where this is all going to become a massive mess. Marvel and Sony will have a joint Spider-Man franchise, while at the same time Sony will be continuing a Spider-Man franchise, seemingly without Spider-Man, but using his key villains? How can an audience be expected to accept a new Spider-Man while the old ones plot lines continue elsewhere? It doesn't work.

Mysterio, Carnage, Shocker & Hobgoblin once those 616 guys have had a movie battle with Parker then I'm happy for Miles, Spider-Ham or an entire Spider-verse Morlun movie to come in

God I can't profess strongly enough how Superior and Spider-Verse are, at the end of the day, a load of badly written s*it...but whatever floats the boat...

Don't believe it for a second , I believe the deal is somewhere where Sony stems to benefit financially from this endeavour whiie Marvel works their magic but all the little press releases will give credit to Sony.
There is no way Feige comes on board and does nothing.

There's no way comic book fans could accept 2 or 3 different continuities happening at the same time!!

Unless Sony plans to tie their film in to the MCU but Marvel have no say in it, so that the new Spider-Man would eventually cross back in to Sony's villain's franchise? That way a mess lay.

The fear he feels about becoming a hero and the guilt he initially feels combined with the backlash he gets from other heroes early makes for a great story... and honestly, I think Miles's story would actually be a great way to bring venom into the MCU (as far as I know, Miles hasn't done anything with Venom yet... haven't really kept up with the Ultimates) Of course, outside of the video games (which are awesome) most of Spidey's recent arcs don't do much for me. But I do think there are plenty of good ways they can go with the movies. Huge Spoiler {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Venom is responsible his mom dying

I'm all for diversity in movies and TV, but to say that one of the biggest superheroes of all time has been jumpstarted to the front ahead of characters like Black Panther and Captain Marvel because he happens to be white is ridiculous and just screams of needing something to complain about. IF he leapfrogged them, which i don't if he did or not, it will have nothing to do with the race or sex of the character. It will be because Spiderman is the most premier comic book franchise available to Marvel. You can bet your sweet ass that if Marvel could work out a deal that allowed them to use Wolverine that Logan would also leapfrog them.

So according to someone thats apart of this whole deal has hinted that Disney has interest in buying Sony Pictures division outright which will automatically give them 100% controll over Spidey.
Well if Disney wants it so it shall be done.

Well if Disney wants it so it shall be done. It'd be a lot of money, but Frozen has made them so, so much money, in addition to the Marvel films, so I could buy that they have the kind of cash to maybe do that.
