Honestly, I love Miles's backstory. The fear he feels about becoming a hero and the guilt he initially feels combined with the backlash he gets from other heroes early makes for a great story... and honestly, I think Miles's story would actually be a great way to bring venom into the MCU (as far as I know, Miles hasn't done anything with Venom yet... haven't really kept up with the Ultimates) Of course, outside of the video games (which are awesome) most of Spidey's recent arcs don't do much for me. But I do think there are plenty of good ways they can go with the movies. Huge Spoiler {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Venom is responsible his mom dying {Spoiler}And there's the plot for your Miles movie. It's accessible for all audiences, has a great story and would have great action scenes.

God I can't profess strongly enough how Superior and Spider-Verse are, at the end of the day, a load of badly written s*it...but whatever floats the boat... It sticks in my craw that we finally got another 2099 book, by Peter David no less, and then Spiderverse hijacked it less than six months in.

So according to someone thats apart of this whole deal has hinted that Disney has interest in buying Sony Pictures division outright which will automatically give them 100% controll over Spidey. Well if Disney wants it so it shall be done. It'd be a lot of money, but Frozen has made them so, so much money, in addition to the Marvel films, so I could buy that they have the kind of cash to maybe do that. not to mention Sony's been losing money recently and may be looking to sell off any division they can.

Well if Disney wants it so it shall be done. Fantastic! Maybe now they go for all of the money and make a multiverse frachise where Ben Reilly, Ghost Rider, Selena from The Underworld films, and Alice from the Resident Evil films are all recruited by Agent J to be members of the new Men in Black, now that alien life is publically known in the MCU and aliens start showing up more frequently.

Just because of the contrast between his and Parker's origin. Because [HUGE SPOILERS, seriously. I wouldn't read this spoiler if anyone is planning to read the start of Miles' run!]: {Spoiler}{Spoiler} Unlike Peter's uncle, Miles' uncle is actually The Prowler and tries to use Miles being Spider-Man to blackmail him into committing crimes. Miles ends up arguably killing the Prowler in self-defense and he beats himself up over that for a while. I'd honestly keep that in for an origin movie, but get rid of Miles' father also having a criminal past.

You pretty much would have to do some kinda origin for Miles to at least explain why he's not Peter to general audiences. But yeah, he's got a pretty good origin. If nothing else, the Prowler is an under utilized character, so him getting more of role was cool

I'm pretty anti origin stories at this point (it's probably the biggest reason I wanted Miles to be the feature Spidey and not Peter), but you're gonna have to make one to fully provide the backstory for Miles.

Sony Pictures Entertainment is worth $8-10 billion and hold varying levels of production/distribution rights to Spider-Man, James Bond, Ghostbusters, Resident Evil, Men in Black, Jump Street, and Underworld. That's both well within Disney's budget and holds potential to make a substantial profit on the purchase within ten years.

I still want Puma as a Spidey villain in a movie. Primarily, because he's legitimately one of my favorite characters. But then I've been championing that C list villain for decades now.

f*** regular spider-man I want Spiderman 2099. Holy shit does that suit look awesome. Also The MCU has these gems right? I know one of them is the space gem and they can tweak it so they can go to another detention and bring in Spider man 2099 and on the way back bring Wolverine from Fox and BANG! movies will just flow into disney.

I'm happy for the news. But does he have to be a teenager?
Yes it's works for the cartoons cause of it's target audiences. Can't we just start at the poor freelance photographer stage?

Puma is pretty significant to the mythos too given his intrusion on Peter is what causes MJ to finally 'fess up to knowing Peter's I.D and seals them being together for decades. I wouldn't mind him getting in on the act. He had some weird but rather interesting stories all about spiritual rite of passage

I'd actually ditch all that just to try and avoid the 'black people on film are always criminals' stuff. It's a cheap route and pushes that gangland criminality angle that all black heroes seem to need to have, which really needs to change

I'm not sure what half this arguing is about (and the other half I'm not going anywhere near). From what I read Spider-Man is going to be making a CAMEO IN ONE MARVEL MOVIE as a way of introducing the character before the SONY PICTURES reboot happens in 2017. The new Spider-Man movies/spinoffs/whatever Sony has planned have nothing to do with the MCU at all. This is just essentially Sony giving Marvel Spidey for a movie, but it's really as a backdoor pilot to his own Sony-led rebooted franchise.
Basically Sony gets the new, rebooted Peter Parker promoted thanks to his appearance in a MCU movie and Marvel gets to use Spidey in, what I would assume to be, Civil War.
How Sony will go forward in the new Spidey franchise while the other superheros he hung out with in the Marvel movie are nowhere to be seen I don't know...
