They should do what the Incredible Hulk did and gloss over the origin during the opening credits. Plus what if you had Stan Lee playing Uncle Ben during the credits? It would be quite poignant in my opinion.

I'm not sure what half this arguing is about (and the other half I'm not going anywhere near). From what I read Spider-Man is going to be making a CAMEO IN ONE MARVEL MOVIE as a way of introducing the character before the SONY PICTURES reboot happens in 2017. The new Spider-Man movies/spinoffs/whatever Sony has planned have nothing to do with the MCU at all. This is just essentially Sony giving Marvel Spidey for a movie, but it's really as a backdoor pilot to his own Sony-led rebooted franchise. Basically Sony gets the new, rebooted Peter Parker promoted thanks to his appearance in a MCU movie and Marvel gets to use Spidey in, what I would assume to be, Civil War.
How Sony will go forward in the new Spidey franchise while the other superheros he hung out with in the Marvel movie are nowhere to be seen I don't know... That new Spidey film in '17 is going to be co-produced by Sony and Marvel Films. Not Sony by themselves as before. Kevin Fiege is going to be part of the production team and, you'd assume as it's a large part of his role in the other MCU films, he'll be making sure the picture will fit in with the rest of the MCU. No idea going forward from that, no-one knows as all the focus is now on getting over that hurdle, but Spidey's going to be a part of this little universe for good for the foreseeable future now. So, could appear in other MCU films, could and likely will get pop-ups in his own series of films. Someone correct me if I've read all this wrong, of course.

Marvel will be working with them, but that "producing" thing is more of an honorary title the further you read into it. They specifically say that " Sony Pictures will continue to finance, distribute, own and have final creative control of the Spider-Man films". To me that relegates Marvel's team there to "consultant" status. Kevin can be a "producer" and give suggestions (which Sony'd be wise to take to heart), but end of the day once Spidey's done in his MCU movie it's Avi Arad's show.

Though the point stands that Kevin Fiege is effectively able to be creatively castrated. Marvel still has no real power over Spidey even with the producer title.

So according to someone thats apart of this whole deal has hinted that Disney has interest in buying Sony Pictures division outright which will automatically give them 100% controll over Spidey. Well if Disney wants it so it shall be done. Fantastic! Maybe now they go for all of the money and make a multiverse frachise where Ben Reilly, Ghost Rider, Selena from The Underworld films, and Alice from the Resident Evil films are all recruited by Agent J to be members of the new Men in Black, now that alien life is publically known in the MCU and aliens start showing up more frequently. Too bad they'll keep pushing subpar MiB sequels. I mean Marvel DOES own the comic...lets the film rights revert.

Ehhh...Miles would actually require an origin movie, I'd think. Just because of the contrast between his and Parker's origin. Because [HUGE SPOILERS, seriously. I wouldn't read this spoiler if anyone is planning to read the start of Miles' run!]: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} Unlike Peter's uncle, Miles' uncle is actually The Prowler and tries to use Miles being Spider-Man to blackmail him into committing crimes. Miles ends up arguably killing the Prowler in self-defense and he beats himself up over that for a while. I'd honestly keep that in for an origin movie, but get rid of Miles' father also having a criminal past. I'd actually ditch all that just to try and avoid the 'black people on film are always criminals' stuff. It's a cheap route and pushes that gangland criminality angle that all black heroes seem to need to have, which really needs to change ...but consideirng that's a large part of Miles' character development, I wouldn't. As long as the Prowler is treated like an actual supervillain (like Electro) with layers and not just some cartoonish bad guy, I'm fine with it. The dad having a criminal past too really didn't add anything to the story and I feel falls into what you said, so that's why it gets cut. With a Miles movie you're already going to have at least three maybe even four black characters with important roles and screentime: Miles, his father, The Prowler, and maybe even Miles' mother if they went with a Black Latina actor. However, three important black characters in one movie breaks McDuffie's "Rule of Three" so...you got another reason why the movie wouldn't happen.

F*** yes, Logan Lerman would be a kick ass Spider-Man. Feeling a little more confident about this.

I'm happy for the news. But does he have to be a teenager? Yes it's works for the cartoons cause of it's target audiences. Can't we just start at the poor freelance photographer stage? Yes, Old Man Gojira over here .. Damn kids and their Krillex! For me, I can't think of any older actors right now I seriously would like to see put on the red and blue spandex. I've heard Jake Gyllenhall's name thrown around, and I like him but....eh...

In all honesty, I feel bad for Andrew Garfield with all of this news and him not being involved is disappointing to me. It wasn't his fault that the second film underperformed, nor was it his fault that the material wasn't what it needed to be. If the material was stronger and more faithful, he would've been an excellent Peter and he was already a perfect Spider-Man.
Obviously all great things come to an end at some point. Just wish they kept him and brought his Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

If we're getting another reboot, can we just go all meta with it and have Sean Bean be Uncle Ben?

I like high school Spidey, but I prefer the older, more seasoned one
