TL;DR Match Listings
Rhyno vs Elias Samson
Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady vs The Vaudevillains (Aiden English and Simon Gotch)
NXT Women's Champion Sasha Banks vs "Blue Pants"
NXT Champion Kevin Owens vs Adrian Neville
---
One week removed from yet another memorable NXT Takeover special, it's back to regular proceedings for NXT. Coming as always from Full Sail University in Orlando, this show heralds the arrival of two new champions for the yellow team from last week's spectacular showing.
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn went to war for the NXT Championship last week, but it was the self-proclaimed prize fighter Owens who would walk out with the gold, capitalising on a possible concussion and laying waste to Zayn with five powerbombs before being declared the winner by referee stoppage. Zayn's status for the foreseeable future is unknown, but Owens's future leads straight to another bout tonight with former champion Adrian Neville. Can Neville bounce back from a hard-fought loss to Finn Balor last week and give Owens his first NXT loss?
The other title change was in the women's division, with Sasha Banks breaking through for NXT Women's Championship glory in a Fatal 4-Way match over Charlotte, Bayley and Becky Lynch. Her status as The Boss of NXT's ladies is now without dispute with the gold around her waist. Tonight, she'll be in non-title action against one of the many cult heroes of NXT, the competitor known only as "Blue Pants" (who is coming off a last start victory herself against Carmella).
Speaking of Carmella, she'll be at ringside for Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady's tag team bout against The Vaudevillains. Teams all through NXT are now jostling for that No. 1 Contender spot and a chance the NXT Tag Team Championships held by the fast developing team of Blake and Murphy, and whoever wins this match tonight will surely be a frontrunner in that regard.
NXT has become the place to be in wrestling today, and it's drawn interest from none other than ECW and WWE alumnus Rhyno. A regular fixture of WWE in the early 2000s, The Manbeast appears to be coming to Full Sail for a special guest appearance, and maybe a GORE~! as well... But will there be someone else that may catch his eye?
Finally, ominous vignettes have been interrupting NXT broadcasts for the past couple of weeks, and apparently we'll get to meet the man behind those tonight. Is it a new talent making his long-awaited entrance into Full Sail? Or is it a current talent standing up for attention? There will be answers.
All that, and more action than you can poke a furry selfie stick at, TONIGHT on NXT!
