I think Nash said the same thing on Twitter. Why not make it a Disney+ exclusive and hype it up like the Mandalorian? I mean, it won't get the same hype by the public, but at least like you said, build up the catalogue on there. Make it so people WANT to get Disney+. And then when they do, it's like, "Oh yeah, we also have all these classical favorites of yesteryear so your kids can watch them too. Except Song of the South. Because we don't talk about that." And if you're concerned about not having it on regular TV, do it internationally. Because HBO Max isn't in Europe yet, for example, Adventure Time: Distant Lands - BMO premiered on regular Cartoon Network not long ago. Like, Disney have Disney+ pretty much everywhere but the options are still there for the time being. It's just weird that HBO Max has pretty much announced a wide enough slate of animation projects and Disney so far's only really done the Olaf special and another set of Mickey Mouse shorts that were shown on TV anyway. Final season of The Clone Wars too.

Low ratings? On shitty ass Disney XD? Here’s my shocked face. Buncha chuckleheads. A new Disney Afternoon being a Disney + exclusive should give them well needed original content.

*Claims because it was too expensive to make*
Gee, maybe if you hadn't made that terrible Mulan remake which ended up costing as a quarter of a billion dollars lost.

Actually Disney is claiming it was the creative teams call because they felt the Season 3 finale wrapped the story up nicely.

Actually Disney is claiming it was the creative teams call because they felt the Season 3 finale wrapped the story up nicely. In one sense, I can buy that but on the other...there’s way too many cases of still successful shows still going on beyond their perfect ending point. I think there’s going to be more to this in the next couple of years that can’t be said now.

They’d have been back if renewed but they wrote this season as if their last, wrapping up storylines that have been around since Season 1.

Reading that was super weird because it didn't really have a reason for it happening which sort of leads me to believe there's more to it than what we know already.

I'm kinda wondering if they're using the "declined ratings" as a blanket excuse instead of "We lost a ton of money this year due to COVID, so we have to make cuts." On one hand, it got to 65 episodes, which is normal for syndication, so there's that. But I don't know how much that means anymore, since a lot of the times, companies basically used syndication to make money on rerunning series that were already complete on other channels. And since streaming services allow you to watch an entire series at once now, I don't see the point of syndication anymore. There will probably be more that comes out after a couple years, like you said. For now, I'm hoping that the series finale will wrap things up nicely.

Syndication numbers really mean nothing anymore since there is no syndication. It's a Disney show and they'll run it on XD or 1 or 2 other channels for a couple/few years and then......into the Disney vault forever; or I guess (since the days of Disney's notoriously-sparse DVD schedule are probably past us) to Disney+, until Disney+ needs to make room for something newer.

Yeah, it’s not like they sell shows to other channels anymore when they own most of the stuff that would air it so it’ll have some kind of life on Disney+ and they can promote that it exists. But I think your reasoning makes more “sense” in a way because, well, Disney did lose money so stuff had to be cut to make up for it and a show they shoved to a side channel seems like an easier thing to do than to cut other stuff right now. But then we could find out it’s something completely different. Like it all still seems like there’s no hurt feelings but at the same time, this doesn’t also seem to be like Michael Schur basically coming out in public to say he decided to end The Good Place (when NBC was driving money trucks to keep it going) either.

FYI, DuckTales is trending today because of a TikTok video (attached in this tweet) featuring a Danny Pudi/Larry King moment. The DT mention is the punchline and it's quite worth the wait IMO.
