The need of the many outweigh the need of the few.

Just to note, nothing but the NYT article and BBC's report is up yet mentioning Nimoy's passing. That could change shortly. Edit: Now it's up on TMZ

RIP
I remember last year, he looked like in bad shape. He'll be best known as Spock, but his appearances on the Simpsons are also very memorable.

He's not really dead you know; not as long we remember him.
RIP Mr. Nimoy.

I'm really upset by this. My dad, too, since he was one of the original Trekkies when the show first aired in the 60's.
We're going to watch Amok Time in his memory tonight. RIP Leonard Nimoy.

This is not what I wanted to wake up to. RIP Mr. Nimoy. In his honor, may the rest of us "live long and prosper," as he did.

I'm pretty depressed over this. The positive of this is that his life was so extraordinary that he'll be remembered forever.

We are assembled here today to pay final respects to our honored dead. And yet it should be noted that in the midst of our sorrow, this death takes place in the shadow of new life, the sunrise of a new world; a world that our beloved comrade gave his life to protect and nourish. He did not feel this sacrifice a vain or empty one, and we will not debate his profound wisdom at these proceedings. Of my friend, I can only say this: of all the souls I have encountered in my travels, his was the most... human.
