Didn't they say it was a Legend? And didn't the GM say "I never liked Bret Hart"?
I'd go with it being Vince lol

What nobody gets is that there were more than one Hornswoggle.

I found it rather impressive that WWE could find a way to throw away an entire year of storyline on a nothing segment that only happened because they couldn't find anyone to actually be the Anonymous GM.
That said, I would've had it be Michael Cole all along. Guy was already in charge of reading the emails and nobody else could see them, just make it so Cole made up everything and was actually the mastermind behind it all. It's not like it would've been a worse move than Hornswoggle.

It was a one off. And really, thank goodness for that. Hornswoggle (the character not the dude really) is/was garbage.

For those saying it's a one-off, here's a graphic from the WWE website shortly after AJ was fired as GM. Says nothing about an Anonymous GM, just Hornswoggle. Source for the graphic.

Source for the graphic.Yeah, but wwe.com posts a lot of stuff isn't canon. And like someone else said, they brought back the Anonymous GM and didn't acknowledge the Hornswoggle thing. I found it rather impressive that WWE could find a way to throw away an entire year of storyline on a nothing segment that only happened because they couldn't find anyone to actually be the Anonymous GM. It's not like it would've been a worse move than Hornswoggle. To be fair, there was no "storyline" to throw away. The Anonymous GM wasn't actively involved in storylines or feuding with anyone the way that say, The Authority were. He just blinked in, made matches, and then left to his own devices. The Anon-GM for the most part, was the neutral authority figure that everyone was asking for

It's not like it would've been a worse move than Hornswoggle. That's honestly where I thought they were going with it. Would have made a little more sense. I don't know if it was intended to be taken literally, or if it was a one off. Similarly, I don't think we're supposed to think R-Truth actually exploded or that Hornswoggle ran through a painted doorway, Roadrunner style. But Sheamus and Beaker are definitely cousins.
