his pre-match promo was fantastic - i'm not sure about why they took riley off the road but its good to see him getting another chance - I always thought the dude had a lot of potential. i do agree that the match was booked pretty poorly - but i guess they are putting over that he is ring rusty so it did make sense, kinda.

The match made no sense. If you struggle to put away CJ Parker how the hell are you going to have any chance against a beast like Owens the very next week?

The commentary put over the fact that Riley has ring rust to shake off almost the entire match. Riley is not meant to slay NXT's beast next week, because this isn't the main roster and a 2-week character arc would suck.

I suppose the "positive" is that now people aren't salivating and baying lustfully at the moon over the idea of Owens running Riley permanently out of WWE anymore.

HELL of a redebut by Riley. He had an awesome prematch promo and the match was solid. He got to break out some new tricks. I could get into it, give him a chance.

I thought the match made some sense. Riley looked like he wanted to just breeze through Parker to get to Owens. CJ was smart to ground him to try to stop his momentum since he clearly had a lot of emotion coming into the match and Alex had a hard time getting out because of his rust. Once he was able to escape and get the ball rolling, he was able to get the win after outlasting Parker. I liked it.
