I wonder what made her try WWE. She has no history of family in it and since she quasi-kayfabes, it makes it hard to find out if she was a fan or if she just needed east money, lol.

Either way, she just "gets" pro wrestling.

I've wondered this too. What a find she's been.

She was cast via an agency for a special month long WWE tryout in LA during March 2013. She has more range and an expressive face she can't display due to the limits of her stoic character. She really is great actress by Wrestling standards at least.

The now departed Veronica Lane was signed from it. Also Eva Marie and JoJo.

One thing Lana really has on the other girls is that she's a trained actress, so she starts off with a lot more range and screen presence than most of the models who can barely talk on the mic.

That said, I would Lana is the second most photogenic woman in WWE, with Eden ahead by a neck. Lana's hot, but Eden's gorgeous.

We've had actors like Jeremy Piven show that just being an actor doesn't give an advantage, you need a knack. Lana seems to naturally get it or she wouldn't do the little things so well.

Also, Eden creeps me out. She seems to have the robot Kelly eyes going on and she looks alien. Like an extraterrestrial idea of what a pretty lady should be. And her legs get so skinny the further down they go, she looks knock-kneed like Zeb.

If she actually tried out, then I would estimate she is a fan herself. Her acting experience does lend her a great devotion to her character-I've never once seen her break character onscreen.

The Rock got her to crack a bit. Of course that's The Rock, and when you haven't even spent a year in the company and are sharing a segment with The Rock, your emotions are going to be high. You could tell Rusev was doing all he could to keep from marking out.

I think it's possible she had at least some appreciation for it, but given speaking multiple languages and having various careers, she isn't one to half-ass things and probably has learned a lot as time goes on. Her and Rusev are both people who seem to nail the details and nuances of their characters, and with the flag mishap, they have been shown to be able to improvise. They seem to either be very aware, also, of when the camera is on them, or they don't drop the act out there, which isn't something everyone is good at, or else Maffew would never have to SEND FOR THE MAN, etc.

In short, Lana's neato.

She never really breaks kayfabe on Twitter either, which is fun to see. Even if she's referencing something that she honestly enjoys, it's through the prism of Lana's character.
