She was cast via an agency for a special month long WWE tryout in LA during March 2013. She has more range and an expressive face she can't display due to the limits of her stoic character. She really is great actress by Wrestling standards at least. The now departed Veronica Lane was signed from it. Also Eva Marie and JoJo. Only thing that sucks though is Rusev is starting to reach that stage of his run where they're going to break him away from Lana. They already have him talking more on the mic and now they're adding conflict between the two. Unless they pull a Kofi and say she was just a "Russian Enthusiast" I'm not sure what else she could possibly move on to. |

I think it's possible she had at least some appreciation for it, but given speaking multiple languages and having various careers, she isn't one to half-ass things and probably has learned a lot as time goes on. Her and Rusev are both people who seem to nail the details and nuances of their characters, and with the flag mishap, they have been shown to be able to improvise. They seem to either be very aware, also, of when the camera is on them, or they don't drop the act out there, which isn't something everyone is good at, or else Maffew would never have to SEND FOR THE MAN, etc. In short, Lana's neato. She seemed to have a grasped locker room etiquette too. Despite her only being in developmental for a relatively short time all the NXT women liked her. You don't have to take my word for it just observe social media since she signed. Never heard of anyone being resentful of her success either. Summer Rae told one of her fans that she feels Lana appearing on screen on the same time as her kind of hurt the standing of her character. Summer didn't blame Lana just more so WWE's mentality of there can only be x amount of talking females or pushed female valets on the roster. |
