I seem to recall that TNA did, on more than one occasion, try to enter negotiation with Brock. I imagine it always came down to them not offering the kind of money he wanted-although, being fair, at the time Brock had a rep for walking out on his contractual obligations, so perhaps he was asking more than he was worth.

The only real window it could realistically happen, it would have been around the same deal as when they got Kurt in, with initial hype and sales, but I think it'd have the same issues once they ran out of guys to feed him meaningfully.

They were in talks with Lesnar from 2007 - 2008 and wanted to bring him in during the small MMA phase TNA was doing with Angle vs Joe and bringing in Frank Mir. I'd imagine him making his entrance through the tunnel to MMA sounding music like this www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZILFiMz36w It would have been entirely possible if they paid him what they later paid Hogan for. Lesnar in TNA would have been short term but would have been worth it from a publicity standpoint.

I think it would and always been about money and promotion. Lesnar is about the money and some hate him for it but at the same time he smart for it but is a hell of a draw. The thing about is at the best possible time in TNA was a Russo booked mess and I honestly don't see Brock putting up with him and for Russo he be hard for Russo to work with him. I wouldn't say Lesnar would never gone to TNA because he is friends with Angle. The only other way I could seen Brock coming in IF TNA did give what Heyman wanted to join TNA booking. Since there clearly a good relationship between Heyman and Brock.
Now these day I doubt there would be a chance in hell Brock even thinks about TNA at this point when his WWE deal is over. TNA is to small and as money hurt they are, could never front the bill. The fact WWE pays Brock for one appearance, the amount most guys in TNA make in a year says a lot.

I think we can end this with "Brock Lesnar would not have gone to TNA."

He'd be just another guy in six months just like almost every other f***ing guy to have jump ship to TNA.

Shark Boy in search of revenge for Brock F5'ing his cousin on the SummerSlam commercial is one of the more haunting missed opportunities in wrestling. Oh what could have been.

To afford Brock, TNA would have to fire the rest of the roster.
He'd be champion by default, on account of being the only wrestler in TNA

To afford Brock, TNA would have to fire the rest of the roster. He'd be champion by default, on account of being the only wrestler in TNA He'd still show up only about once every other month. So TNA could keep the same taping schedule.

It'd have taken so much money they literally would have had to drop the entire company and just filmed two hours of Brock standing around every week.
It'd still do better in the ratings than Impact.

TNA couldn't afford Brock Lesnar...and they don't get Lesnar without signing Paul Heyman.

He'd be a comedy character now.
TNA would manage to find his strengths - intimidation, power - and hide them so far away that you'd be lucky to ever find them again. He'd be in the back doing comedy skits with Samuel Shaw.
