Lawler's confirmed that 2k16 will center around Stone Cold Steve Austin mode and he says he and JR doing voice-overs for it. With that said, I wonder what else they're going to do. So it's going to be WWE 13 all over again, given like half that story was Austin-focused? |

I could see it starting at WrestleMania XII and ending at XIX, which means there will be a ton of content in between. Maybe we can skip Austin/Rock at Mania XV(since that's been in the games like three times now), and have their match at Backlash 1999.

Starting at Mania 12 would mean including Savio Vega in the game. That'd make it worth it. |

I would only be down for the Stone Cold mode if it covers his entire career so we could have guys like Steamboat and Sandman in there along with the ECW Arena.

Color me not excited. I like Austin and all but I have a feeling this is going to lead to the "largest roster of all time" being people for this mode and NOT NXT people and whatnot.
I dunno, I just like playing my game with the current roster and pretty much let the legends be.

I really wish they'd just make a Monday Night War game and sign a bunch of people for it, and include maybe the top 15 modern guys to help sell the game to younger crowds. Maybe in that they could do a recreation of the Invasion or something and play it out how we all wish it did. That'd be a fun use of the Attitude Era without having to retread the exact same ground.

Went back to 2k14 recently (thankfully a digital purchase so just had to redownload) and set up a Universe that sorted legends and a few choice superstars from today into rosters based on which brand they debuted on or which company they were in during the Attitude Era or if they predate that which company they first appeared in. Got a nice balance going. Sammertino is the WWE champ on Raw feuding with Andre the Giant, HBK as IC champ feuding with Edge and The Outsiders as Tag Team champs coming over from Smackdown to feud with Brother of Destruction. Also got Stephanie as Divas champ but no current feuds going for that one. On the Smackdown side and Flair is World Heavyweight champion feuding with Ultimate Warrior, Steamboat as US champ feuding with Jericho as well as DiBiase and Del Rio teaming up to fued with Mega Powers.
Forgotten how good this game is!

I hope Austin's mode is hunting deers and hosting podcasts Walking Dead/Wolf Among Us style, if you make the right chain of questions, you get more viewers. If you do it wrong, you get replaced with Jericho.
Joking aside, i'm really hoping for a D-Bry and Shield story modes.

They could salvage Showcase Mode if they added simple elements such as the ability rewrite history with multiple scenarios. What happens when HBK beats Austin at Mania? What happens if Bret wins at Survivor Series? That could add more replay value and intrigue when you play matches where you don't know exactly is going to happen. I remember a story creator story I stumbled across once being about The Kilq never breaking up and taking over the WWE. Kane debuts alligned with Taker to fight them. Purple and black getup. I looooove historical what if stuff. Especially if its nuts. I never realized how much I really want to see original Kane with a purple attire. |

I looooove historical what if stuff. Especially if its nuts. I never realized how much I really want to see original Kane with a purple attire. Right? It was revealed perfectly in the story too with the coming out from under the ring cutscene. Bam purple Kane teaming with Taker in a Hell in a cell tag match. The Kliq also had all red attires. Just looked like the wolfpaq. |

Wish the Owen Hart DVD meant he would be in this game (SummerSlam 97) match but unfortunately it's being done without Martha Hart's consent.
I hope at least 2K reaches out to her for a deal separate from WWE.

They should do multiple Era modes for a single or pair of wrestlers.
Like, Hogan or Hogan/Savage, Bret/Shawn, Austin or Austin/Rock, Cena and then Bryan Modes.

I'm more excited for the old arenas/wrestlers more than anything. I was so disappointed when THQ took the easy way out on Legends of Wrestlemania and half passed the arenas. That's a big reason why I still have Showdown, they did those various, memorable arenas justice. I remember the silverdome was positively massive. |

Y'know, if they're going to do another WWE game based on the Attitude Era, I'm probably just going to pass this year. I'm a huge Stone Cold fan just like so many others, but I don't want to play his career when I can have so much more fun watching it.
