Sometimes, people just wanna say they don't like someone without having to debate about it. All I ask is people not be dicks about it to people who are/aren't fans. I highly doubt AJ is lurking on here while CM Punk makes a list of people to kill ala Billy Madison. I don't know who this is. And that is my point of contention. The dickishness, as if the individual performer leaving had personally insulted the fan in question. Did it? I think Nattie still has her fans here.

People getting this upset over people not sharing their views on a wrestler amuses me. Three of my favorite people in wrestling is Jerry Lawler, Jeff Jarrett, and Jim Cornette. If I got upset every time someone on here didn't share my opinion on them, I'd have banned myself 9 years ago. My favorite diva is Eva Marie. I'd be getting mad in pretty much every diva thread on here, lol. My favorites for years have been the Bellas. I'm liking the generally positive response they've been getting recently but it used to be where I was better off not even reading diva threads.

Liked her in NXT, couldn't stand her during her main roster run.
Still. it's always nice to get out of that glorified frat house with your sanity. Can't hate that one bit.

Because, and I only say this as an outside observer, you come off like what these people say affect you on a personal level. Who gives a shit if someone here hates AJ? If you like her, that should be all that matters to you. Life's too short to go into defensive mode over someone you don't know personally. That's just me.

I don't know much about AJ the person. I assume she's okay. So, in that regard, kudos for retiring and have a happy one.
However, there is AJ the character. As a female who is very into wrestling, I've stopped hoping for the female messiah to save us from poor divas segments and feuds. This is because of the character in question. AJ, when she burst onto the scene, was supposed to be that (according to her mega-fans). She was supposed to be excellent. Instead, she was just okay. Not bad at all, but not amazing either. Now, this in itself is fine to me. Lots of guys are akin to overblow a female wrestler's skill in the ring because they like the character or "she's hot", like in the way K2 and the Bellas had improved so much, but that's easy to improve from zero. But I digress. AJ the character still had potential. he And then there was the childish dress and skipping, her crappy entrance music, the obsessive girlfriend bit, the f%^$ing #AJALL thing, and lest we forget, getting to be GM. Every storyline with AJ involved being crazy ('cause crazy's hot, Maggle!) and gave absolutely ZERO positive qualities for the audience to cheer for other than she's nice to look at. And then Paige came along, and she's basically the same character with more eye makeup and no skin pigment. So their whole feud was just stupid to me. You would think AJ would have somehow taken that as reason to have a character transformation. Instead, she leaves.
But it is not AJ the person, whose choice to marry someone who pissed off the company is probably a strong reason for her retirement (thanks for the harassing cheer, smarks), who I hate, and you shouldn't either. Hell, I don't even blame the character AJ for how crappy the divas division has gotten. The real person who wanna blame for this stupid-ass character for existing in the first place is the one woman whom the company will never bury. Thanks for being hypocritical B*^*@, Stephanie McMahon Helmsley. Keep tweeting stupid hashtags about how great your company is to female empowerment while burying your female talent on television. You're making sure any talented woman with half a brain will steer clear of the wrestling business and join UFC instead.
...sorry, rough day at work. Carry on.

I have to deal with "he's so boring". Right, I'd better stop enjoying his work then!

My favorite diva is Eva Marie. I'd be getting mad in pretty much every diva thread on here, lol. My fave one from day one was Triple H. Hunter Hearst Helmsley. Up until NXT got good, it was a hard knock life on these message board. But, yeah, this basically sums up what I mean about AJ being held to a much different standard. This is a board whose whole opinion on Nattie changed because she's annoying on a reality television show, but if you have anything negative to say about AJ Lee, you have to source that shit like a doctoral dissertation. It's mad. I'm still a fan of Tyson's wife, but I've also had to accept the FACT, she's not going to be pushed because her role is to make everybody else look good. (Been this way since 2009 - she has put over those damn Bellas that long!)Paige is gonna end up the same way; she can wrestle, so let's stick her with some Diva who couldn't kick out of a paper bag. But that last part, yeah, I agree 100%.

As the guy whose only notable trait on this board is, "actually likes Bray Wyatt", I've done pretty good when it comes to keeping my sanity when reading threads about him.

Between being a fan of Triple H to the point he may be my top guy, Randy Orton, Batista and now Bray Wyatt it is amazing I managed to survive. People hate what you love and hold dear, it is the way of fandom.
