Man I'm gonna miss AJ threads about as much as I miss the old Mickie threads.
Not one bit.

Because the person making that claim should at least explain what criteria they judge a performer as "poor". Not just for her, but any wrestler. She was a poor performer because I thought she was a horrible actor. A little girl playing wrestler in her bedroom. That's what I thought of AJ. If you don't agree with it, fine, but don't sit there and say it's not a valid opinion. Again, it depends on the comparison and context. A poor actor compared to who? The other Divas? They are hardly winning Golden Globes.

Again, whether or not you personally agree with it has less than nothing to do with the validity of the statement.

It's one thing to be one of the worst. There's certainly no shortage of bad acting in WWE. But the way some people single out individuals, you'd think the rest were Meryl Streep.

People getting this upset over people not sharing their views on a wrestler amuses me. Three of my favorite people in wrestling is Jerry Lawler, Jeff Jarrett, and Jim Cornette. If I got upset every time someone on here didn't share my opinion on them, I'd have banned myself 9 years ago.

I found her long promos to be among the most obnoxious things I've ever seen in acting. The stilted affected delivery was beyond grating. Very miserable time when she would have several long promo segments every week on Raw in Summer-Fall 2012. If someone auditioned with her manner of dialogue delivery for one of our student films at University I would have absolutely been a vote against.

Legit and I am being honest, I don't and never will get her hype. She is vastly overrated in a large number of categories, Paige is younger and can sell as well, Nikki Bella has improved greatly, Brie is good in the ring as well, Charlotte another huge improvement story, Sasha Banks is way better than AJ in a lot of areas, Natty is a person who should be pushed more, Bayley is great in ring as well and promo as well, Becky Lynch is good in the ring, Naomi really does deserve a chance. The only really shitty Divas are Summer Rae, Rosa, and Cameron everyone else would be a welcome improvement over someone who looks like they are just going through the motions to cash a check and get a two minute spot.

I thought the GM-era lengthy promos weren't that bad but for some reason she'd put long gaps between everything she said.

It's so contrived and overly scripted, that stilted deliveries are par for the course for the most part. That's why worked shoots tend to make more waves, because the performer is able to put more realistic delivery into them. That's common among most of the roster. Make a point.....wait.....make a point.....wait. It's why the WHAT chants have been able to take root. The wrestlers seem to give the fans the chance to say it.

Sure, but you're acting like people need specific examples of why they don't like AJ Lee. They don't. Sometimes people just don't like other people for no reason at all. I can't stand Ziggler. I don't know why, it's not like he did anything to me, I just simply don't like him. I'm sure people feel the same about AJ. For me, she got annoying when she tried to be "CM Punk for Divas". I don't know if that was her or the booking, but it came off as her being kinda sad.

Although I love the old school territory stuff, I'm not one of those fans who find everything past 1990 to be terrible. There's a lot I enjoy about the product. Hell, I like CHIKARA, and trust me, the old timey fans HATE them.

That's why worked shoots tend to make more waves, because the performer is able to put more realistic delivery into them. But the awful delivery from AJ, THAT f***ING LEERING, that wasn't typical WWE bad writing. That was like the song on Buckwheat's CD that was uniquely his own. Expressions tend to be exaggerated. Subtlety doesn't often go over well in large arenas because they won't be noticed by the audience. I love Cornette, but if someone said "IMO he's a loudmouth who can't control his anger and has a booking philosophy that's stuck in 1987" they would have a point. Sure, but you're acting like people need specific examples of why they don't like AJ Lee. They don't. Sometimes people just don't like other people for no reason at all. I can't stand Ziggler. I don't know if that was her or the booking, but it came off as her being kinda sad. If people don't like a performer for reasons they can't or won't explain, then there's nothing inherently wrong with someone else saying "you haven't articulated any specifics" which again makes debate difficult or near impossible. As for being the CM Punk of Divas. If WWE management are using her to vent their own frustrations with their product, that's definitely on them, not her. She's hardly likely to pick up a microphone and tear Total Divas a new ass without the blessing of the people running the place.

Sometimes, people just wanna say they don't like someone without having to debate about it. All I ask is people not be dicks about it to people who are/aren't fans. I highly doubt AJ is lurking on here while CM Punk makes a list of people to kill ala Billy Madison.

Up until NXT got good, it was a hard knock life on these message board. But, yeah, this basically sums up what I mean about AJ being held to a much different standard. This is a board whose whole opinion on Nattie changed because she's annoying on a reality television show, but if you have anything negative to say about AJ Lee, you have to source that shit like a doctoral dissertation. It's mad.
