I bet the second Punk walked out things were pretty awkward for her, and with the podcast and the lawsuit it just must have got progressively worse and worse. She did well to stay around for as long as she did, no one can say she 'followed him out the door.' I wonder if she was staying to make a point that she wasn't a quieter as much as anything else. Respect to WWE for never even coming close to burying her through it all. I doubt there'll be anything too malicious said or done on Raw, probably just the Bellas (in character) taking credit for running her out, at worst. Don't expect a tribute package or much acknowledgement of her legacy going forward though.

It may be naive of me but I really feel like if she was booked anywhere close to how she was in 2012-2013, it would have made a difference. Why show up to work where apparently, most people troll you, you're in pain, and it's unbelievably awkward all for a total of twelve minutes per week where the crowd chants for your husband because your storylines suck? It was just a bunch of factors though I'd agree the marriage is the main one.

If you didn't know a thing about the Punk situation and that he's married to her, just from purely her and WWE's side of things it's gone about business as usual. Whatever else, I don't think there's really going to be much to complain about on that side. They even gave her a WrestleMania win to go, knowing full well it was going to be her last match for them. The Punk chants were probably the most annoying thing.
And as said, I highly doubt this blind-sided WWE, 2 days notice or not. You had to know this was really likely.
I've missed the AJ of 2012, 2013. I was really disappointed with how the Paige feud went at pretty much every level, from promos to ring work to angles. I'm not exactly cut up about her leaving, as it may open up a slot for an NXT worker for one thing. But, AJ had a notable run and was one of the extremely small amount of Divas that managed to break out of that division, something which even the Bellas at the moment haven't properly done for one example. If she's got her health still and saved well, it's all good news for her and best wishes for her future.

The Divas division as a whole was extra-cruddy in 2014 though, I don't think they were singling AJ out for bad booking, everyone suffered. I do agree that they weren't giving her anything that was worth all the sacrifice and aggravation she was presumably having to to deal with though.

I got this off Tumblr, citing Meltzer. I wonder if WWE and/or Vince feel burned by the two days notice. I'm kind of proud of her though if it's true.. Yeah, because retiring from in-ring competition for WWE means you can never wrestle again elsewhere, ain't that right Ric Flair?

^If that's what went down, that's kind of a crappy thing for AJ to do. She knew she was out, didn't say anything, got the win at Mania, and then quit. Could have let Paige get the fall in the match.

It's possible she did give more notice, if Meltzer's reason for believing that she didn't is based on the fact she went over. Vince clearly remained very fond of her seeing as she stayed booked strong after Punk left, so maybe it was just one last moment in the spotlight for her on the way out like they've done with Trish and many others. Paige clearly knew AJ was leaving (and was very saddened by the news) based on how she reacted, so you'd think word would have got out even if she hadn't expressly told management yet. I think Paige should've got the fall anyway, for what little the person who gets the fall in a five minute tag match matters, but then hopefully it's the first of many Manias for her.

So, there's this. And he might have called Kevin Owens a faggot on NXT. When does he get released? I don't think " FAggo T" was the word...

Haha, wow! If he's not just having fun with her, maybe we just found out who passed that cartoon of her, Lita and Punk around the locker room (if that even really happened) and wrote that childish letter in the Observer bashing her and Punk when he left (if it wasn't just Meltzer and Alvarez pretending they had a scoop). There's no notable dates in your career, Alex, so you might as well. Basically, really ballsy of you Alex Riley, making fun of her.But at least she was 10x more relevant and successful than Alex

Is Riley going to be doing a Kanye West gimmick? I'm real happy for you, and I'ma let you finish, but Shawn Michaels had the greatest comeback of all time! Also, LOL at Riley being the second coming of anything. I was more hyped for the return of French Toast Crunch than his return. Jakob Novak did more with his return to NXT than Riley has. Don't even compare French Toast Crunch to that walking Four Loko.

I mean if they treated her like crap, wouldn't that just give Punk's side more of a reason to win or ammo for their case? It felt more like "let's not piss off Punk or his wife cause this might make us look terrible in front of a judge".

And the award for "most passive-aggressive person in WWE" goes to... What a dirtbag.

Are we still doing wrestler confessions? Because my name is Banjo and I gave Rosa Mendez chlamydia. Is that what you named that doll of yours?

Why does the wrestler I like have to be a scumbag? It's not fair. Dude, some of his best hits have been highlighted. They should let him do this on TV. Whatever this is... Instant heel heat. I don't want that guy on WWE TV. I want the fiery guy who busted his ass to get back in the ring and pours his passion into all his performances despite being far from the best. I want the guy who could get pops farting on a snare drum, and now that guy is probably dead. I still like Alex Riley and want to see him succeed, but this whole mess just makes being a fan that much harder.
