AJ announced her retirement Some people got sad about this news Some people started touching themselves to this news Arguments were had We bonded over our love of hated wrestlers We all agreed that Dolph Ziggler is a noodle-haired punkThen Alex Riley said something stupid. No we did not >:(

AJ Lee's exit has really opened my eyes about WWE. I've been asking myself what it is I'm actually watching.
I said that, in the divas division, AJ has had only one good feud and one great promo to her name. Then I started looking at the men.
- How many memorable feuds and promos has Kofi delivered? There was that brief spell with Orton. - Ziggler? He's been there almost ten years and by sheer necessity he's had some good promos but what about feuds? It seems like, in almost ten years, he hasn't had a feud that could define his career.
It goes on like that. Cesaro isn't a promo guy but he's been there for three years now without one intense rivalry. Not one. Despite being on TV every week. The closest is his arc with Sami in NXT but again that's NXT. They take the time to build characters. On the main roster, it really feels like WWE has fallen into the 'reality era'. You cheer a guy or help him by giving him heat because you want him to succeed, not because there's a compelling narrative that garners any real emotion out of you. This has been the case for years. It's been true save for a few exceptions. You watch a guy or girl for so long. They get their time then they leave. They're remembered for how over they were or the matches they had. But mostly, there are no stories. There isn't an emotional hook. You like them or you don't. They get pushed or they don't. Everyone is mostly just there. Del Rio was just there for years. He's remembered for his lack of reaction, fairly or not, and his exit.
Looking at it from that point of view, Max Landis is wrong. Wrestling is wrestling. There are moments but mostly it's just a series of matches and rotating feuds.
It's depressing to think about.

They really are robbing a lot of really talented guys of what should be great, fulfilling careers.

Yeah, I don't care how high his vertical leap is, that's a fat guy move. Hopefully it gets tossed in the dumpster with Solomon Crowe's whoopsey-doo headbutt.

Hopefully it gets tossed in the dumpster with Solomon Crowe's whoopsey-doo headbutt. From a technical standpoint he sucks butt, but he's so happy and enthusiastic it's hard for me to dislike the guy. He's like a reverse Brock Lesnar with me, who I love watching kill people in the ring, but he's too standoffish for me to get really invested in.

I'm actually fine if he keeps doing it as a signature spot but don't think they really work as the match ending move.(feel kinda similar to Solomon's headbutt)

While we're confessing, I actually kind of like Bull Dempsey.
I'll still mock the shit out of him, because he's just that kind of guy, but I mark for the goofy fat bastard bumbling around the ring trying to be a badass when he's just a fat goof.
Wrestling needs guys like him.

I always liked Chris Masters. I wanted him as WWE champion in 2005/6. I win.
