So I'm noticing a few things about myself lately, and these may sound bad, but I'm mostly looking for films books and movies to quench my thirst on these things
I've really been getting into historical killers. Though truth be told, this has just started recently with me looking up stuff about the zodiac killer, which all started with the FANTASTIC movie with Jake Gyllenhaal and Robert Downey Jr. I'm into puzzles as well.
I legit want a killer or psycho that goes personal with their victims. Such examples is choosing to stab over shoot, or giving away motive during the crime, such as the end scene between the killer and The woman during No Country for Old Men. Extra points if the killer doesn't need a backstory and is just crazy to be crazy. EXTRA points if they have no emotion when they kill (It's normal to find someone killing for fun, i want to see someone killing just to kill)
Finally, i want atmosphere and story. The darker and more drawn in I can get, the better

Anything about Jack the Ripper is cool.
Their was also a British TV film called "A is for acid" about John George Haigh, the notorious "acid bath murderer" in 1940s England.

Watch Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer which is about Henry Lee Lucas or Citizen X which is about Andrei Chikatilo

Eh, I don't think it's weird. Every few months it seems, I go on a wikipedia binge about serial killers and stuff. Always find it interesting.

Mr Brooks is a pretty good movie that would match what you're looking for.

Your interest in it isn't abnormal. It's the building excitement that radiates in your post that concerns me. Excitement?

Yeah. Your post seems to get more and more giddy the deeper you get into it I do apologize for that. I've always been into dark things, and right now it's like a kid discovering a new candy or new toy. I never dive deep into ANY subjects but I love the idea of new knowledge and stories realistic or fictional

Not going to lie I love me some serial killer and true crime reading/watching. There's something so fascinating about the darkness of the human psyche. I'm mainly interested in finding out why and how people go into that abyss.

nothing weird about it at all. I actually had a discussion about this kind of thing with a friend today. there's something utterly fascinating about serial killers even if we do find their actions abhorrent.

"You rang?" My recommendation would be "Manhunter", the Michael Mann version of "Red Dragon" (and try to find the Director's Cut). Oh, wait... historical killers... I've heard that "The Boston Strangler" (starring Tony Curtis in a very dramatic role) is really good but I haven't seen it.
