I imagine once you've had a taste of actual talented, Hollywood screenwriters that work with the likes of Disney, it's hard to go back to the ex-Days Of Our Lives and Jeff Foxworthy Show writers who make up "WWE creative".

And Batista is working with James Gunn who is one of the most talented screenwriters in Hollywood...

Later in the interview, Big Dave went on to comment that the ocean is "not dry", the sky is "not red" and that in his experience, basketballs are "not square".

If Batista goes into exclusively only wrestling in house shows, I hope he wrestles as Drax.

James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) has a lot more cred with me for writing a Troma film than for writing a Disney film, as much as I like both. I get what you're going for, but I don't think giant conglomerate automatically means better talent. There might be some really great writer who never got a break on a soap opera or something like that. Plus it wouldn't be surprising if a talented Hollywood movie writer just isn't a good fit for writing a weekly wrestling show. Jim Cornette for example doesn't think writers should be the bookers, etc, but that's another story. I would probably rather have Heyman writing a WWE show than one of my favorite film writers. Just some random thoughts there, but agreed on criticizing WWE's writers. But it's not like Disney hasn't put out plenty of poorly written garbage too.

I love that big names are beginning to only want to do house shows. What does that say about the state of WWE's TV?

Vince: Big Dave, how could you!?
Batista: Deal with it.

Which brings up something that's been bugging me for a while. Batista's was reported to have signed a long-term agreement with WWE, yet he's been gone for a year now. What gives?

Speaks volumes when the former number 2 face of the company says that.

Yes, he's stating the obvious. But it's still a pretty big indictment of WWE's current product. This is coming from someone, that if he wanted, could come back, immediately become a focal point of WWE TV, and make good money doing it. But nope, he'd rather just do house shows, because doing something you love in front of thousands of people is still fun. But doing that, while playing out WWE's inane story lines, isn't.
