I get their frustrations but I don't get what they legitimately expected from an Adam Sandler comedy.

This is extremely disgusting, but not surprising. Adam Sandler is a huge piece of shit that decided to make movies for the lowest subhuman scum on the planet.

This movie sounds like it's also insulting to comedy.

I don't get it. At all. It's kind of a small horse, I mean what am I missing? Am I crazy?

Even if you legitimately felt this way (which I'm not accusing you one way or the other), how does taste in movies determine your worth to the human race? You're not going to be any better a person liking Birdman as you would be liking Grown Ups 2.

While there certainly was just a tad of hyperbole in my original post, I'm willing to bet everyone who loved That's My Boy definitely has a Confederate flag in their front yard.

I get what you mean but let's stop a bit short with comments like that, ok? People might take that the wrong way and start being stupid, when your comment is a bit more innocent than it could be interpreted as being.

Did Hollywood learn nothing from Marlon Brando's proxy?

Who hires Adam Sandler to do Satire? Unfortunately, he hires himself, more or less, and the profit margin for his films tends to be high for people like Sony if they work with them. A failure like Blended is a rarity for him.

Good on them. No need to have to put up with more of the typical garbage like that.

I read the title and first sentence of the article and thought, "Sounds like a typical Adam Sandler movie."
The counter-argument that they're ridiculing stereotypes, though, is interesting. When it comes to comedy, is there a way to tell if it's the racial stereotype that is being made fun of instead of the race? Or is "we're ridiculing stereotypes" just a poor excuse for tasteless, offensive comedy?

Or is "we're ridiculing stereotypes" just a poor excuse for tasteless, offensive comedy? Isn't that kind of the same argument with "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry"? They said the movie was supposed to be this strong voice for gay marriage, but before you get to that heartwarming ending, you need to wade through about 90 minutes of jokes about how gay people are weird and icky.

What's the movie have to so with the confederacy? Especially when hes doing an over the top Boston accent. I wish people from New England wouldve walked off the set of that movie in protest.

If the group of people you're supposedly trying to speak favorably of (in this case, Native Americans if they're truly ridiculing the stereotypes and not the culture/people) want to walk out on you after reading what you're giving them to do, it's not a good sign. I mean, what you're saying is possible, but when in doubt I try to just listen to what the affected community is saying on the issue.
