Just wondering because I remember we had that thread about seperating the artist from the art a while back. I've heard Get the Gringo was good, but haven't had a chance to watch it yet. I did watch The Beaver. Not great or anything, but worth a watch. Probably wouldn't watch it again though. I was hoping it would be more campy.

Yeah
He may be doing smaller stuff nowadays but those small parts are always the best things in those movies (expendibles 3 & Machete Kills)
The only time I've REALLY hated a Gibson flick was "The Patriot"

Yeah, I like most of Mel Gibson's work. It absolutely baffles me that many celebs have committed FAR worse transgressions and get a "no harm, no foul" reaction. But yet Mel Gibson gets hung out to dry.

Red dress yes. Honestly Ronda was dissapointing not for being a bad actor but she has a pretty big loud personality and charisma that the movie never utilized

I still think that the first two Lethal Weapon films are up there with all the great action movies (and 3 and 4 arent bad either).

Truth be told he hasn't been in a film or directed a film that I haven't liked. So yes, I still like Mel Gibson despite his controversial outspoken views.

Yes as He was by far the most enjoyable part of the shitty Machete Kills (haven't seen the third expendables film yet so can't comment on that one)and honesty while the guy did out himself as a bigoted moron I did find how the cast and crew of the second hangover film not wanting to work with him was extremely hypocritical when they had no problems working with a convicted rapist.

I don't judge Mel Gibson the person because I don't really know him other than what I've been told about him at his worst. Which is all pretty bad, but I would wager that's certainly not the whole story of him as a person. I'm not saying he's a good guy, but I'm not saying he's an evil guy either. I just don't know.
As an actor and director, his work is tremendous and speaks for itself.

He's definitely a nutball but he's still got "it" and I do enjoy his work.

Braveheart is a great movie. I couldn't care less about historical accuracy.

Honestly, he may be a horrible human being (or a great guy, I really don't know), but he certainly hasn't done anything severe enough to make me question myself for watching him, or for loving alot of his movies.

I like him in the Mad Max films, but otherwise have never been a huge fan, so it doesn't really effect me much.
That said, his best contribution is Always Sunny's Lethal Weapon films.

I was never a particularly big fan.
Braveheart is an amazing film, as are the Mad Max and Lethal Weapon films (well, the first couple).
I think Signs is really underrated.
Other than that, his personal views are pretty odious.

He's always been hit or miss for me. Granted, I have not seen all of his work, so below is all I can judge him by:
Loved it Air America Payback Lethal Weapon Lethal Weapon 2 Maverick
Liked it Ransom Mad Max Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome Signs Braveheart
Meh Lethal Weapon 3 Lethal Weapon 4 We Were Soldiers Conspiracy Theory What Women Want
Hated it The Patriot
Kill it with Fire!!! The Passion of the Christ (don't get me wrong, it was really well done. It just was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a theatre and not entire due to the movie itself. The woman sitting right behind me practically wailed loudly throughout the entire movie. Granted, it didn't help that the only movie to churn my stomach more was "Faces of Death".)

Mad Max 1 & 2, Lethal Weapon 1 & 2. Chicken Run!
So that's a pretty good handful I really like him in. Out of a lot of other films, I guess. I dunno, he's an odd fish.
