Or will they grow out of it with the way the product is these days?

My kids will become bitter, jaded overcritical assholes.
Just like their old man!

Some will and some won't. It's just like years before. I had plenty of friends who loved wrestling back when Hogan and Warrior were wrestling. They no longer watch it and the same with the attitude era. I had friends that watched it every week and now they don't.

Depends on how soon they discover message boards and actually read Youtube comments. If they still stick around after that, they're fans for life.

Some kid 20 years from now is gonna watch some dookie match in their era and they are gonna go, "man, the show sucks now. I remember the good old days when Kane wrestled Roman every other week!"

That thread about the lost generation of wrestlers, the many comments about stale presentation, guys like Cena staying on top for so long, career ending injuries and the likes of CM Punk burning bridges makes me wonder if WWE will be able to even put on a nostalgia act to tempt back the kids that drift away. I can't see the returning legend generating interest around future WMs in the way The Rock did.
On the other hand they have a jaded fan retention scheme now with NXT, if that continues they may stick around.

My son is 14 and mainly follows wrestling through our video games now. (He watched half of WrestleMania and went to bed this year.)
5-6 years ago, he loved it.
He's just more into gaming.

I don't see how.
A wrestler appears more often now than his counterpart did 20-30 years ago. AND they stick around longer too and drag down their spot on the card for an extra 5 years after they've overstayed their welcome. Then they're a "legend" so it's time for another 500 appearances by "the legend wrestler x" over many more years.
If I was a kid I'd have already quit watching. Imagine being like 8 and you're watching main event Orton. Then you're in college and it's like "Wow, this is the same thing and nothing has changed." Or Cena. Or even the less pushed people like Ziggler. People stick around and get used SO long now.

I don't know what they will decide, but it's comforting to know that all of Earth's children share a hive mind and make collective decisions.

When wrestling is playing in a bar or I'm talking to someone they were always like Wrestling sucks today, these new guys suck, where is Stone Cold or The Rock or Goldust? Then they see Triple H squashing CM Punk and were like OMG TRIPLE H f*** YEAH!

Punk's bridge-burning is ultimately little worse than Hogan or Bret Hart's bridge burning though. There's nothing to say that in ten years' time things won't be sufficiently smoothed-over enough for a comeback and Punk finally getting that WM main event. And who knows, if Bryan has a moment of clarity and decides to hang it up for the time being, he could be in line for an HBK-style comeback in five years' time.

I can see that happening. It was not like that with me, though. All I am is some jaded fan who will watch on occasion but would rather dig up his old DVDs or tapes and watch them on from time to time. I have never completely lost interest, as my overall love for it never went away. I just don't follow it like I used to because there is nothing that interests me about the current product.

Kids aren't jaded about the product because this is what they know so it isn't bad to them.
To them seeing Cena beat up on Rusev every week or Orton vs Rollins is what they are used to.
When I was younger I rarely saw good matches as the only access I had to the WWF product was Superstars which was simply short jobber matches every week with some backstage interviews.
I envy them getting to watch Orton-Rollins as it is much better than HBK vs John Paul (its a real match, look it up).
My son and his friends have zero problem with the way the product is, its all they know. I am quite happy to let them be content with this.

Then they see Triple H squashing CM Punk and were like OMG TRIPLE H f*** YEAH! When wrestling is playing in a public location, it's a real life trope that whatever the most embarrassing or boring thing WWE is putting out at the time is, that's what will be on at the moment WWE is being discussed. This really doesn't help. I remember talking to someone about wrestling at a bar once and it was on monday night. They didn't have RAW on at the moment though. I asked the bartender to turn one of the TVs to it and of course it was the beginning of a TOMKO VS CARLITO match. Then there was no more talk of wrestling and the channel was changed.
