The Garfield thread got me thinking.
I always loved Garfield, the comic strip, the specials, the cartoon show. In a sense, I loved anything that had to do with that franchise when I was kid.
Then years later I discovered the Internet, and I found that a lot of people hated the strip. To the point of someone calling it a crime against comedy.
Know I know Garfield was never the funniest thing on the planet, though its probably hard to be super funny every single day for a comic strip, but I was still shocked that people completely hated Garfield. Maybe since it's the Internet and hate of something gets spread easier, I don't know. But I never quite understood it.

The Looney Tunes Show.
I get that fans were disappointed on the reduced slapstick and traditional LT gags, but I can't dislike it just because I love seeing Bugs actually struggle and get frustrated with situations, which he rarely ever did in the original shorts. Plus Kristen Wiig Lola is best Lola.

Lars Alexandersson of Tekken 6 fame. I thought he was pretty cool. I was quite surprised at the amount of hate he (still) gets. They think he has "anime" hair...did people not see the heads of hair on Kazuya, Jin, and Heihachi?

Nothing. Everything I like has people that both like and dislike it, and I have never been surprised by this.

People hate Skyrim? I thought the general consensus was that it was a quality game.

Star Trek: Into Darkness.
Well, "love" is a strong word for the movie. But I did like it.

Watched Teen Titans Go! on a whim the other weekend, really loved it. Was surprised that there's such a vocal hatred of it from fans of previous cartoons.

People hate Skyrim? I thought the general consensus was that it was a quality game. You've obviously never asked a Morrowind fans opinion of it...

That Superman killed Zod at the end of Man of Steel. The whole "oh superman doesn't kill because killing is bad" is wrong and dumb. Superman was the only person on Earth with the ability to stop Zod. He would have been wrong NOT to kill him.

He would have been wrong NOT to kill him. Plus it's ripped right from the comics. It's no longer canon, but it was for quite some time. Hell, if I recall he killed all the phantom zone villains with kryptonite.
