You know: Where one guy is a face and the other is a heel/tweener, but they're still friends with each other? The two of them were one of my favorite things about mid-90s WCW. Sting always sticking up for Luger even when all the other faces told him he shouldn't, and Luger trying not to cheat unless he knew that Sting wasn't watching, just because he didn't want Sting to be mad at him. I think my favorite memory of them was when they would come out to the ring, Sting up front slapping hands with all the fans at ringside, Luger behind him stone-faced and uncaring; but every time Sting turned to look at him, suddenly Luger is smiling and hand-slapping right along with him. They just had such great chemistry together.
Nowadays, it seems like the closest thing we get to that is the cliched 'pair up two guys who can't get along', which to me isn't nearly as interesting. So, could WWE pull something like that off, and who on the current roster could they use to do it? I figure they could probably do it with Ambrose and Reigns if either one of them ever went heel. But who else?

I remember Punk doing commentary as a heel, but always cheered for Kofi because they won the tag titles prior. I always thought that was a cool bit of continuity, rather than "I'm a bad guy now and I only like other bad guys"

This is Zayn and Owens' entire story arc since they began teaming up.

This is what the SHIELD should have been.
Three singles wrestlers, who still remained friends and always had each other's back
Would have been more interesting than one member turning heel on the others.

I always thought that was a cool bit of continuity, rather than "I'm a bad guy now and I only like other bad guys" Made even funnier when Punk started to lean more towards being a face at the end of his commentary run, only to just get pissed off when Rey Mysterio showed up. "I HATE this guy!"
