Because there are a few of them. For me, there are three names: Kurt Angle, Gail Kim, and Christy Hemme. All three of them have been in TNA far longer than they were in WWE, and have achieved far more there than they did in WWE. Heck, without Gail there probably would never have been a KO division. And Angle was undeniably TNA's single biggest catch. And Christy seemed to find her niche in TNA, while in WWE she was just a passing fad. Any others?

He kind of wins by default doesn't he, because EC3 is nothing like Derrick Bateman in terms of actual characters while most were more or less the same person they were in WWE, just now appearing in TNA.

Josh Matthews, because the bags of money he gets for working for TNA says so.

I know I'm in the minority but I consider Angle more of a TNA star than a WWE star now. He's dominated the product for so long that he was almost always the second guy I thought of (behind AJ Styles) when I thought of TNA.
And he has had a LOT of really good/great matches. So, he's put in the work.

Begins and ends with Christian for me. He shines in TNA while in WWE he struggles to outshine people like Heath Slater.

Begins and ends with Christian for me. He shines in TNA while in WWE he struggles to outshine people like Heath Slater. In TNA, Christian was the last NWA Champion for the company, and he held that belt for what felt like a lengthy reign for mid-2000 standards. In WWE, they just couldn't wait to get the belt back on Randy Orton, a guy that failed to connect as a babyface, after winning the WHC. So, I would make the comment that Christian Cage meant more in TNA than he did in WWE.

I still consider him a WWE guy because of his first run but I consider his TNA work to be the pinnacle of his singles career. Something about him as a featured guy in WWE just never clicked for me.

Christian would be GREAT in WWE if they would just give him one. More. Match.

Matt Morgan
One of the real question marks on a similar point: Rhino- he didn't have that different a career from WWE to TNA, and indeed was in both of them far longer than he was in ECW. You could make a strong case on any of them for "ECW star", "WWE star", or "TNA star"- and yet none of them 'feel' like he was one of them.
