WWE officials have reportedly changed their thoughts on signing former TNA World Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles.
AJ is the current IWGP Heavyweight Champion and considers New Japan Pro Wrestling to be home, and is under contract, but WWE is interested in signing him. WWE is looking to have three touring brands in 2016 and want to load up on as much quality talent as they can.

A little late for that, don't you think? Where was this interest when he first left TNA and was actually available to be signed?

Well, damn it all. Just keep him away from Darren Young.

Well they did offer him a Development deal years ago after one match with Helms.

Much like with Joe, I'll believe it when he debuts.

I'd be kinda surprised if AJ actually took a deal right now, but he'd be a great addition to NXT.

Was anyone 100% certain that AJ would make this much of a killing on the indy scene? TNA tends to really mask what a person is capable of. So many people were rolling their eyes at AJ Styles late TNA exploits.

Is there a working arrangement with New Japan and ROH? Because he's been all over the ROHis coming to Destination America stuff I've seen on Twitter.

He's been doing some of his best work in NJPW, and with Bullet Club, so I am in no hurry to see AJ being wasted by Vince and Kevin Dunn.

I think his more brooding heel tthing he does now made WWE see him in a different light. The old AJ was more of a pure babyface, and not the kind of pure babyface that WWE goes nuts for looks-wise. It's hard to explain, but he's got more of a tough veteran all-arounder vibe now, instead of the white-meat high flyer thing.

I'd only be for this if it meant NJPW and WWE working together in some capacity. Forget about it if they're going to snatch him up and keep him to themselves. I don't want it, as a fan.

All depends on what Jarrett has signed with them. I do believe that AJ has a deal with ROH for a certain number of dates a year and first refusal though. He's been doing some of his best work in NJPW, and with Bullet Club, so I am in no hurry to see AJ being wasted by Vince and Kevin Dunn. I'd imagine he'd get the same deal Joe got if this happens. Probably wouldn't be in NJPW if he took it but still working other indies.
