This is cool, but I'll be damned if I am ever buying a Bethesda game when it comes out. I'll wait a few months for them, or more realistically, for fans, to fix all the shit they broke with their short-sighted programming and lack of adequate playtesting.

I usually wait for the GOTY-style editions (excluding Dishonored which came with GwG, I got Fallout 3 GOTY and the Skyrim Legendary Edition), but this gets be giddy already.

Man, I sure hope this is what it seems like. I've sunk literally hundreds of hours each into Fallout 3 and New Vegas in the past.

Are we doing this again? Are we seriously doing this again? I mean, it LOOKS legit but I'll believe it when I see it. This is cool, but I'll be damned if I am ever buying a Bethesda game when it comes out. I'll wait a few months for them, or more realistically, for fans, to fix all the shit they broke with their short-sighted programming and lack of adequate playtesting. Dude, do you have any idea HOW MUCH playtesting and bug-fixing would have to be done to have everything work perfectly? They would NEVER release the games because they'd keep finding new glitches and bugs. It's the lot of sandbox games: there is no way they could spot, let alone fix, every single problem, unless of course they don't mind delaying the release by several decades. And even then, there's the problem that fixing one thing often breaks another thing. It's the same thing with Grand Theft Auto, it's the same thing with Saints Row, it's the same hing with Assassin's Creed, it's the same thing with the Arkham games, it's the same thing with literally any sandbox game because there is literally an infinite amount of ways to interact with the game and to f*** around with it. There's a reason fans can take the time to fix this stuff: they don't have deadlines to stick to, with investors pushing them to finish on time. It's a small miracle that these games work at all and get released more or less in due time so I'm really not gonna get mad at the developers because minor issues pop up in games that they have already put an insane amount of work into, especially when so many companies are content giving us the same games over and over again with slightly improved graphics and more expensive DLC, and then those still have just as many bugs.

I do get it, I do understand, but my problem is that they have a history of rushing playtesting, often being shitty to the testers in the process, abandoning fixing certain known bugs, and in general being kind of shitty about these things. They create amazing games in regards to scope, but it doesn't change the fact that in the course of doing so, corners get cut, and I don't trust them enough to buy games from them day-one. That said, I do want to be sure to say that I don't begrudge anyone who wants to play it right away. I know the games can be a lot of fun, just I don't want to lose saves, etc.

The official Fallout twitter & Facebook pages have both changed to reflect the change, so I dunno man, it seems real. And I don't mind bugs, it's half the fun with Bethesda RPG's, seeing the weird shit. Except for NV and the constant crashing. Can't even play it on my PC any more because I can't go into Vegas without it crashing, tried removing all mods, doing a clean install, can't do anything. Shame really.

Then again, New Vegas was made by Obsidian, who might have the worst track record as far as releasing stuff full of bugs/unfinished in the industry (KOTOR 2, Neverwinter Nights 2, etc.), not Bethesda Game Studios (which made F3).

Oh, believe me, I know. They did make some good progression, but it seemed for every step forward they made, they tripped and fell face first into a puddle of glitches.

Not bad, though for me I'd mostly wait until some fun user created stuff is out there.
