Meh. A lot of these notes make plenty of sense, all things considered. Now, many of the words to avoid are kind of stupid to avoid, especially since those terms were used like crazy in the past. Anyone who has watched wrestling for more than 10 years tend to use said terms. It is not wise to act like the product of yesterday is undesirable. Most of the fans of that product are the die-hards that you lean on when times get tough.

What they mean is that they make shitty movies. With horrible acting, predictable storylines, and plot holes galore. Any television series would have been canceled ages ago with the amount of storytelling issues this company has.

It's apparent that Joey Styles did not get the memo.

They could simplify things by booking people to their strengths, covering weaknesses, and telling the announcers to do the same in whatever way they find most appropriate.

Being the detail-sweating guy Vince is, it doesn't stun me that there are this many rules.
Reminds me of when I was studying journalism in college. Our jorunalism professor was a former writer for the Kansas City Star newspaper, so he would want us to write/edit our articles to some very particular standards, and not all of them made sense. We had an Associated Press Handbook that would specifically say not to use the word "X", but to use "Y" in place of it, and we'd often gain/lose credit based on how well we followed that book (and it would update every year, so you had to keep up with it every school year). Some made sense (never use "band-aid" since it's a company brand, but use the generic "bandage" term), but others were ridiculous (every airline is to be called an "airline" or "airway" EXCEPT for Delta; Delta MUST be called "Delta Air Lines").
Wow, I went off-track more than I thought I would. Anyway, point being that it doesn't stun me with it being a professional commentating job and Vince being as detail oriented as he is, it's no surprise to me at all. Some of it is BS or seems to make little sense, some of it seems to not be followed anymore or is very ticky-tacky on when it is followed.
