Its not like that - I mean, we all get the bloodlust sometimes. Its, in part, why we watch action and horror films. I'll definitely watch Hardcore Henry & Pandemic for the visceral/vicarious experience of rampaging just like anyone else - but my point was the lack thereof in a show or movie that's not built on that gimmick wouldn't ruin my experience. That's all I meant by that. But I take your point in regards to the "no characters are safe" thing. TWD has been building the tension on that one for a while now that I can see people getting frustrated with that aspect. It just seems like people put a lot of eggs in the basket of Negan's first appearance being the thing that rectifies that. Negan both in the comics & his aura on the show wasn't about that though. He was about dominating Rick and installing his new world order (tooo sweeeeeeet! as a wrestling fan, I chuckled when he said nwo in the show), not about a culling. Again, I get your point though, I just think being that angry about the season finale cliffhanger is strange - especially since someone did die and there's a pretty good chance it was a longstanding character with the way Rick was talking to Andrea about "it'll always be us" or whatever he said to her. I'm not trying to invalidate anyone's frustrations with finale, just trying to understand as all this rage seems to come out of nowhere to me. Its like people were expecting what happened in the comic, didn't get it and now are mad - which is a strange reaction to me. Like I said, it was a highly anticipated moment. The best comparison I could use is wanting to know the identify of Cartman's dad, only to be thrown an episode of Terrance and Phillip. The cliffhanger could have worked if absolutely no one knew about Negan/Glenn. But we did know, and the producers knew we knew and that everyone wanted to see things played out. But it didn't happen. Gotcha. And you know, if that's how people watch it, then that's too bad (by that I mean, their experience was ruined). I've always been a proponent of watching a show as a show and keeping it separate from the comic. Kirkman's gone on record as saying that he has zero intention of keeping the show the same as the comic because if people want that story then they can just read the comic. So I think if someone went into this ep expecting what happened in the comic, that's not really fair to the show because they've made it very clear they have no intention of doing so. I'm all caught up on the comic and have been for a while now and I appreciate that they do things differently. But I know that people can get very .... anticipatory? ... about certain things and that can affect how they watch a show.

The problem with how they did it is that it's akin to killing a character off screen. It's not as effective learning about it after the fact instead of seeing it occur ourselves. Not that we needed to see someone's skull caved in, but they could have at least shown us who was chosen before we got the first person view.

I think a good way to end was show the guy about to select the victim... then it cuts to a reaction shot of someone not in the group before the cut to black.

I almost feel like it's going to be Eugene and then I'm going to be sad. He's really become a great character over this last season and I'd hate to see him go now.
My gut is telling me it's Daryl though. Thanks to the roadside kaboom, I think he has the most to atone for.

I want to say Daryl too, but I feel like he's got that feud with Dwight that's been brewing and I can't see them not giving Daryl a babyface comeback on Dwight for what he did.
I'm leaning towards Glenn.

Best comment I saw was:
"No, guys, if you pay close attention you'll see that Nicholas fell on top of the person who was about to get hit with the bat."

I don't wanna play the who is it game, but I rematches and I think it's Glenn. They have fpthrown feint after feint about him dying the last three yrs and too many tropes this yr alone. All meant to lull us into thinking they were diverting.

In eight months articles will run about the wildly successful disinformation campaign show runners and AMC put on to A: keep TWD trending and B: throw the world off
It's a work brother!

There's 11 people that are captured if I counted right. Next season will start with a reaction shot from one of the characters and then a flashback of something that happened to this person prior to that night. It will either be pre-zombie Apocalypse or during. Each week will be a different reaction/flashback until we get to week 8. By then there will be 3 possible victims left. The first hour of the mid-season finale will be 30 minutes for each of the two survivors with the last 30 minutes focusing on the victim's death and the aftermath.
Now THAT'S how you troll an audience.
And I think I miscounted because I forgot about what's his face. Make it a two hour finale then for shits and giggles.

They got a few outs there if they don't want to kill Glenn. They've took so many u-turns from the source before that I half-way expect them to go another route. Then again, it might be more of a shock this time around if they did stick to the source.

{Spoiler}https://www.yahoo.com/news/walking-dead-superfan-claims-isolated-205928979.html
Story says a superman isolated the audio and claims its Glenn whispering Maggie's name and Maggie screaming in anguish. Dunno, I guess we'll see

I don't know if it will be Glenn but it could very well be. I think they had Glenn run to Maggie for the reaction (as people whether they read the comics or not know what happens and were maybe expecting Lucille to strike then), but they may very well fake out the fake out

I'm not the type of person to offend people so I apologize if anyone found my last post offensive. However one would argue that the comic set a similar tone. We'll just leave it at that.
