Will start with Magic Mountain for two days and wondered if the fast pass is worth it? Wanted to do the guided tour but 4 people minimum screwed me. Is the travel far from LAX to Valencia where I'll be staying?
What's the easiest travel choice from Valencia to Buena Park where I'll stay next for two days of Knotts Berry Farm?
Thought about a water park but I'm not too gutsy with large water rides.
Last is Universal Studios (doing VIP experience baby) but here I'm more uncertain about which area to live. What places brings me close to Universal, Hollywood WOF, Rodeo, maybe a beach? I'm doing airbnb btw.
After Universal I have around five nights left in LA so I wondered what else is can't miss?
What should I avoid? Fyi, I never felt unsafe in New Orleans.
Any tips on public transport options?
One thing I learned from Paris and London this summer is to plan ahead, no more winging it.

The amusement parks here are always insane in the summer time. Magic Mountain isn't as crazy as Disneyland, so a fast pass can work. You'll still be stuck in huge lines for the really popular rides, however. Also, Magic Mountain has its water park right next door. It's called Hurricane Harbor. There's also Raging Waters in San Dimas, but that's pretty much on the other side of LA County. Yes, if you're going to Universal, get a place to stay no farther than Downtown LA to the south and maybe Van Nuys to the north. Hollywood works. In all honesty, rent a car if you're going to do this. Seriously. Just get a car. Also, the areas where you're going are all very safe. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Oh, if you're going to LA, you have to go to a PWG show. You have to. As a wrestling fan, your trip to LA would be a little empty if you didn't go to one.

Hit up Largo at the Coronet if you're a fan of comedy at all. You're pretty much guaranteed to find a good show there.

Thanks. I don't have a driver's license though. Uber/Lyft everywhere then. Some of the places you want to go to are practically inaccessible to public transportation. The only one that really is, is Universal as the subway passes right under it.

Traffic is a bitch. That's all I have to add.

There's the water park "Soak City" that's on the Knott's grounds as well. But yeah, I would also suggest uber-ing it up if you don't have a license, seems you're gonna be all over and as already stated, public transportation is the absolute shits around here.Universal to Knott's should take you around an hour, on a calm traffic day.

Valencia is pretty far from LAX, but pretty cool that you're staying the night there. A day in the hot sun waiting in line for rides is going to wear you out. Like someone said, Hurricane Harbor is right next door there, so that's pretty cool. Knott's has a water park right next door, too.
Buena Park is a ways from Valencia, and a little run down. You should be OK though, but BP isn't really a city where you can walk through and check things out. I guess Beach Blvd has a small stretch of stuff (like Medievel Times) but it's more commuter friendly than anything.
Universal is it's own thing... movie theater, bars, clubs, restaurants all in City Walk. You can spend some time there. You can even take in comedy shows, or some music. I'm honestly surprised Disneyland isn't on your list, that could keep you busy for a day or two, as well.
It's summer, so you can always take in a Dodger game, too. Head over to Santa Monica, and Venice Beach! But yeah, a lot of driving/uber'ing will be involved.

Dude, I just got sunburned at Santa Monica last week.
Also, traffic to the Griffith Observatory (where you also find trails to the Hollywood sign) is a bitch

Farmers market is cool as well. Dude, I just got sunburned at Santa Monica last week. Cave is south of the hike, but still. It's worth it.

LA ain't much of a mass transit city. The Metro only achieves the bare basics and the city is too spread out to use anything else but a car. If you are looking for a place close to Universal & the WOF, West Hollywood is your best bet, but I can't imagine the prices to stay there on Airbnb. Sherman Oaks is another good bet, as it's just down the freeway from Universal & West Hollywood
Some sights to see: Griffith Observatory (Go early before sunset if you don't want to park on the side of the road a half mile away), Venice Beach & Santa Monica Pier (Both within walking distance, although the stoners & dirtiness of the boardwalk can be a detriment), take a tour of Warner Brothers Studios (3 miles from Universal Studios), Getty Museum (Tons of European paintings) & Getty Villa (Lots of ancient Greek/Roman statues), Forest Lawn Memorial Park (Gravesite of numerous Hollywood stars including Bette Davis, Lucille Ball, & Buster Keaton)
Some eateries: Pink's Hot Dogs (Go mid afternoon non-weekends to avoid the 40+ minute lines), Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles, Philippe's (One of the oldest eateries in LA)

My first day is set aside for getting from LAX to Valencia so the travel time isn't much of an issue. I've set aside a full day for checking out from the place in Valencia and checking in at the one in Buena Park so I have plenty of time. After two days in BP another full day is set aside for relocating to somewhere near Universal. Checking in somewhere the morning of a park visit is not worth it. My reason for skipping Disneyland is I went to the one in Paris last month. It's also a timing issue. Besides I'll get plenty Disney done when summer 2017 is set aside for an Orlando vacation.
