Remember the time WCW thought it was a good idea to have no wrestling in the first hour? What would you like to see if Raw did that?

I'm pretty sure this has happened on WWE tv before. Maybe not, maybe it just felt like it but I still have a sneaking suspision that there was no actual wrestling matches for the first hour of a RAW before.

Triple H and Stephanie promo? That's most of the hour gone already.
Remember that goofy musical chairs bit they did, with Regal, Stacy Keibler etc? I think Eugene might have been involved.

Honestly I've been thinking that if you reformat RAW where the live crowd gets dark matches but you use the first hour to give interview time and set up angles in interesting ways backstage that it'd have the rest of the body of the show go better. Maybe not a whole hour but something that's sets up the rest of the show but in a better way then 20 min authority promo to start the show

Exactly what the above says. It actually, if done properly, might make the show better. Use the first hour as a pregame show of sorts. Promos, vignettes, backstage skits...get it all out of the way in the first hour to set up the show proper at 9 PM. Then you do a two hour wrestling show.

I think they'd like to do that, but the worry would be that no one would tune in for that 1st hour and it would bring the overall average down. It could have a positive effect on the other 2 hours though.

Well, realistically, who's watching the first hour of Raw if you know going in it's just a pre-show? I'm certainly not, haha.
Build up to what? The TV match that I literally just saw one or two weeks?

I'd put in a 45-minute promo where Eric Bischoff explains just how masterful his plan at Bound for Glory was.

It could have a positive effect on the other 2 hours though. They'd have to do it in a manner that you'd need to actually watch the first hour to know what the hell is going on during the wrestling portion. The obvious thing is don't replay what happened in hour 1 50 times during the second and third hours so people need to watch the whole thing. We know that wouldn't happen though.

I think one or two of the RAWS back in around 08-10 had a RAW that had no matches in the first hour. It was that or there was one match after 2 hours when they had 3 hours specials.

I probably wouldn't turn in at all. I turn it off at 9pm (CT) as is, so whatever I miss, either my son or wife's cousin tells me the next night when I get home from work.

And Flair pushing people out of chairs in dastardly heel fashion?

"Stinger...THIS is your life!"
Followed by an hour of everyone from Stings kindergarten teacher to his first girlfriend turning heel on him.

LEgit question:
Some have said Raw and Nitro both did this. So, what did they fill the first hour with? Did they really just do back-to-back-to-back promos?
