Looks like his NFL career is over after getting cut by the Raiders today. Another great College Player that turned to be a bust

Vision seems to be a huge problem for him. How many times have you seen him ignore gaps and instead choose to run straight into dead ends.
No way would I be touching this guy anymore.

Just goes to show what a crapshoot drafting a RB that high is. At Alabama he had all blue chip guys opening gaping hole against often undermatched defensive fronts but that just doesn't happen in the NFL unless you have an O-Line like the 90s Cowboys and even then you have to be able to find the hole and run to daylight.

Just reminded of the top 5 picks in the 2012 NFL draft. RG3, TR3(yards per carry) and Justin Blackmon I think NFL films will make a documentary on this one someday!

I thought Indy might have been able to make something out of Richardson after they got him, because being in the quagmire of Cleveland is enough to make any player crap. Turns out, I greatly underestimated just how much Richardson contributed to his problems as an NFL RB.

It's really unfair to include RG3 in that list though. If Shanahan just thought for more than 3 seconds and benched Griffin when he should've, he'd probably still be playing at his college level right now.

Yeah there is certainly blood on Shanahan's hands and the overall shoddy management of his situation at the Redskins. I'd love to see Griffin get a chance to shine again somewhere else, it's a shame to see talent like his going to waste.

The Rat may have sped up the process, but Griffith wasn't long for this league regardless.
He just cannot avoid hits or even slide properly.

Think of how much money he made because he chose to play for bama. He'd have been exposed on a lot of college teams and his draft-stock would have plummeted.

Part of the issue with Richardson was likely that he developed a sense of entitlement for going to Alabama and just allowed himself to get lazy. It also doesn't help that programs like Alabama or Oregon or LSU tend to artifically inflate the abilities of people who go there, especially when surrounded by other athletes.
That said, his rookie year in Cleveland wasn't too bad, but it was when he got to Indianapolis that things went downhill. Every single running back that we used (from Ahmed Bradshaw to Vick Ballard to Boom Herron) would do much better than he did, but the one thing Trent had that they didn't was health, unfortunately. All those guys would get hurt, while Trent stayed healthy, largely due to the fact that he didn't try that hard. And Indianapolis's offensive line isn't the best in the NFL, but a guy that we traded a #1 pick for should have at least made some kind of effort to push through and get an extra yard or so.
Considering that Oakland's not a deep team, talent-wise, and that he failed the first wave of cuts just means that people have given up on him, and Trent's attitude in Indy, where he was told by the staff "Don't bother coming with us" before the AFC Championship game when he got the team imposed 2-game suspension, only cemented those opinions.
I don't want to be deliberate on him, nor do I want to rub salt in wounds, but a team puts time and effort into you because they believe you are the best option for success, and when you refuse to deliver or even try to do something, including when the team gave you more opportunities than he deserved... I just feel that he is safely a "bust".

Think of how much money he made because he chose to play for bama. He'd have been exposed on a lot of college teams and his draft-stock would have plummeted. As it was, some people knew even then he wasn't all that. Jim Brown was very vocal that he was not worth a high draft pick and was not that good. Ryan Clark told a story on ESPN where he went to Mike Tomlin concerned about the possibility that the Browns, their divisional rival, might draft him. He said Tomlin said to him, "I hope they do. He isn't that good. He doesn't dish out punishment; he absorbs it. He looks good at Alabama because he is playing behind that line made of future NFL players and the fact that college defenses get tired hitting him late in the game. You guys won't get tired hitting him."
