This is like the 4th time a Jericho list has been mentioned pre-2016. Armbar. He also had a List of people that conspired against him when Dean Malenko dressed up as Cicolpe to win the CW Title on the week after Slamboree.

I'm Owen vs Austin from SummerSlam 1997. Vince explaining the "if I can't kick his ass, I'll kiss his ass" stipulation without using the word "ass" makes him sound like the lame white guy voice that every Def Jam comic did.

It shows how over Austin was/what a different time 1997 is from 2017 that the school boy trip Austin used to pin Owen at SummerSlam wasn't met with a thunderous "bullshit" chant. At least King covered it up by saying that Owen hit his own head on the canvas and JR put over how Austin took Owen by surprise.

I recognize that in 1997 that the Cold War was over, and it was post Operation Desert Storm and pre-war on terror. So there was a vacuum in regards to a foreign menace heel character. But it's still weird in retrospect to think a U. S.-Canada feud got over so well.

Watching through the early Attitude Era stuff now, and man, did Ron Simmons LOVE taking the Electric Chair drop or what? What's up with that?

SuperBrawl III: Jesse: Why does everyone boo when Erik Watts come in? Tony: Are you sure they're not saying "Woo?"

Watching the Raw where Tyson "turns heel" and joins DX, and man, poor Vince looks genuinely baffled when he gets booed to shit by the Cleveland crowd. Like....genuinely like he didn't understand the booing and it hurt his feelings a bit.

Besides "To beat the man, you gotta beat the man!", "Riding Space Mountain", "Wooooo!", "Limousine-riding', jet-flyin', kiss-stealin', wheelin'-dealin' son of a gun!"...
...a lot of Ric Flair promos in the 1980s also included him singing "She'll be coming round the mountain when I come!"

How, and why, were WWF and WCW still doing blackface in the late 90s? I've counted DX, Goldust and Buff Bagwell. While I'm sure it offended a portion of the audience, X-pac doing "Mizark" had Mark Henry's blessing (See Table for 3 with Henry, Godfather and Ron Simmons)

I know Sting joining the NWO gets ragged on, rightly so, but Luger joining them first makes way way less sense. He just joins. He gets tossed a shirt and puts it on. No build or anything, he just joins the Wolfpac one day. Sting joining later, made a little more sense because Luger was there now so maybe he felt more compelled. But Luger and Sting joining the NWO after being so strongly against them for almost 2 years by that point was just so dumb.

Controversial opinion but....DX sucked. More the "Shawn/Hunter" iteration than the bigger group that followed, but...man, these guys sucked. They buried opponents super hard on the mic so that no loss ever mattered, and neither did any victory. They never sold any babyface(except The Undertaker, probably at their peril) as a threat whatsoever. It fit the gimmick, I guess, but man....it sucks to watch through.

DDP stole a line from Con Air of all movies. During the build for the DDP/Malone vs. Hogan/Rodman match, he says he hates guys like Hogan and Rodman and quotes Cyrus the Virus "To me you're somewhere between a cockroach and that white stuff that accumulates at the corner of your mouth when you're real thirsty"

John Tenta being part of Pipers team for Uncensored 97 was out of the blue.
Arn Anderson saying he wasn't ready was really dumb.

Before they teamed up at Survivor Series '92, Ric Flair and The Diamond Stud were on the same side in WCW against Beautiful Bobby and The Yellow Dog in 1991.

Always knew this in the back of my mind... David Crockett was a creeper.
JCP Nov 85
He was way too excited about Magnum kissing Babydoll.
And he had a definite man crush on Billy Jack Haynes. He had a thing for his arms.

He had a thing for his arms. In some weird alternate reality out there, 1985 David Crockett and 1995 Vince McMahon are co-commentating a Magnum/HBK match and trying to outdo each other in the creeper department. The real loser of the night was the janitor, who spent hours afterward mopping up the arena floor.

Steve Austin & The Undertaker won a Hell in The Cell Match over Kane & Mankind on Raw on June 15, 1998.
