I forgot how annoying Matt Striker was on commentary, good lord. I liked Striker purely on the fact that Lawler apparently hated him

Yeah, I've never had a problem with Striker as a commentator. Don't quite get the hate for him, really. He's passionate, knowledgeable, and sounds like he actually WANTS to be there.

I forgot how annoying Matt Striker was on commentary, good lord. You mean to tell me "THIS IS WHY WE WATCH WWE BECAUSE YOU NEVERRRRRRR KNOW!" and "AW YEAH I'M MARKING OUT BRO!" isn't annoying at all?

Just watched the Gimmick Battle Royal at Wrestelmania 17 as part of the new Bobby Heenan collection. Michael Hayes coming out in his Confederate Flag cape got me thinking about how much of a shit storm that would cause today. I believe it’s actually the old Georgia State flag.

Sometimes his history was off, but at least he was passionate in the right way at the table. Everyone else at the time was going through the motions

During their Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood, Triple H attacked Kevin Nash with a screwdriver. Kinda turns that whole MVP story on its head, huh?

I watched three random WCW shows from 2000 and during all three shows they did a spot where someone got low blowed but didn't react because (big reveal) they were wearing a cup! In two of the reveals somebody then shoved the cup in the attackers face.

As bad as THAT match was in 2002, once Jackie Gayda mainly became a valet, I thought she was decent for about a year and a half once they stopped pushing her as an in-ring competitor.

I am watching, well trying to watch WCW Mayhem and I had no clue Stevie Ray did commentary. There is too much crap going on and the segments are way overdone. Loved the three way match between the Dragons, Three Count and Noble Courageous, but had to pause it during Vito's match against his doppleganger. It also surprised me to see that WCW booking in 2000 really was THAT bad..

Smackdown 4/11/2002 is a goldmine.
-Vince hires Stacy (the famous gif with the WBF splicing to it)
-Edge encourages the "You Suck" chants to replace "What?" chants on Angle ("You know what? this interview's over, play my music - WAIT DON'T PLAY MY MUSIC!!!")
-Angle/HHH main with Dork Ass and one of the loudest chops you'll ever hear

I didn't realize that the two "WWF Superfan" goofs were still doing ads for WWF stuff late into 1998. I just ran into them doing an ad for "Attitude Cologne" on the go-home show to Rock Bottom. Were they writers or something?

Were they writers or something? They worked for tv production so it was a way to save money by using them and not having to hire actors.WWF did this a lot using employees or kids of employees instead of actors or models.
